11 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Mark MacLeod! The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Trevor Gratis and Dillan Fox.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! MacLeod on the wrong end of a nice jab. MacLeod takes one on the button. MacLeod missing with a left hand there. Heer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one. Heer has managed to clinch.
MacLeod tries to break free but Heer pushes him back against the cage. MacLeod is trying to break free. Heer misses with a knee to the head. A short right from Heer. MacLeod wants to get back to striking at distance but Heer won't allow it.
Heer with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. MacLeod has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Heer lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Heer has MacLeod pressed against the cage, preventing MacLeod from circling away and getting back to striking at range. MacLeod has had enough of the clinch but Heer keeps him there for the moment. Heer presses MacLeod against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot. A frustrated look appears on MacLeod's face as he tries to break the clinch. MacLeod tries to circle away but Heer has him pinned against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. MacLeod tries to break free but Heer pushes him back against the cage. MacLeod wants to get back to striking at distance but Heer won't allow it.
Heer connects with a nasty looking knee right to MacLeod's face.
It looks like Mark MacLeod has been cut. Heer unloads a knee to the mid-section. MacLeod lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh. MacLeod is trying to push Heer away but Heer has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere. MacLeod looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. MacLeod is trying to break the clinch but Heer has him pressed against the cage. MacLeod has had enough of the clinch but Heer keeps him there for the moment. Heer keeps control of MacLeod as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks. A frustrated look appears on MacLeod's face as he tries to break the clinch. MacLeod can't break the clinch.
MacLeod is looking to break free of the clinch but Heer has double underhooks. Good body shot from Heer.
Heer crunches a lovely knee into MacLeod's ribcage.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Heer scores with a knee to the head.
MacLeod is rocked! Heer creates some distance and fires off a vicious elbow that drops MacLeod! He pounces and finishes the fight with more strikes! Nice KO for Heer.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:17 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sim Heer! Sim Heer retains his lightweight title!
