With a record of 8 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jorge Serptentino!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Serptentino staying out of range there.
Steel looks to throw the jab but Serptentino is out of range.
Serptentino closes this distance looking for a takedown but Steel circles away.
A head kick misses from Serptentino.
Nice defenses there by Serptentino.

Steel darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Serptentino is trying to get back to full guard.
Serptentino avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Steel.
The fighters are battling for position here. Serptentino manages to regain full guard. Nice work.
Serptentino doesn't do any damage with a couple of strikes from the bottom.
Steel pushes down on Serptentino's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Serptentino tries to buck Steel off but Steel is having none of it.

Steel tries to advance to mount but Serptentino denies him.

Steel tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Steel has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Serptentino is looking to regain half guard here but Steel keeps moving and retains side control.

Steel is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Serptentino is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Steel in side control, throwing shots but Serptentino defends.
Serptentino manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Serptentino is looking for a kimura. It's pretty deep but Steel still has the half guard so he's probably OK. Oh, Steel has exploded into a beautiful escape there and after a quick scramble, he's ended up in side control on top! Nice work!

Steel tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.

Steel wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Serptentino, who protects the arm well.

Steel is pressing down on Serptentino's thigh, looking to free his foot. Serptentino is holding on for now.

Steel is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Serptentino looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Serptentino is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Steel pulls his head out easily.
Serptentino works his way to full guard. Good work.
Steel sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Serptentino's guard.

Steel is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Serptentino is surviving well by controlling Steel's body position as best he can.
Serptentino is working to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Winston Steel dominated that round.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Steel shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Serptentino as he avoids it easily.

Steel tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Steel passes to full mount! That's big trouble for Serptentino!
Winston Steel overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Steel is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Serptentino really trying hard to get back to half guard here.

Steel with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Serptentino is looking to get to half guard.

Steel is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Serptentino can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Steel has hold of Serptentino's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Serptentino manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Serptentino tries to reverse the position but Steel maintains control.
Steel fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Steel is in the full mount, landing strikes.
Serptentino is still in real trouble! Can Steel finish him?
Steel lands a big elbow - Serptentino is in trouble! More strikes from the mount and Serptentino is forced to tap out!
