The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sai Yuk moves forwards but Malelei connects with a nice, crisp jab.

It looks like Fong Sai Yuk has been cut.

Sai Yuk shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Malelei manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Malelei will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Malelei throws the left hand but Sai Yuk avoids the punch easily.
Malelei tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Sai Yuk paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Sai Yuk throws a punch but it's blocked by Malelei.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Sai Yuk.
Sai Yuk swings wildly with an uppercut but Malelei uses good head movement to avoid it.
Sai Yuk has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Malelei is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Malelei escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Sai Yuk closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Malelei quickly recovers to half guard.

Sai Yuk loads up on a couple of big shots to the head that have Malelei scrambling to escape. He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Sai Yuk land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Sai Yuk stands and salutes the crowd.
