The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maloney shoots in looking for a takedown but Sole manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Maloney's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Maloney uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sole.
Maloney shoots in for a takedown but Sole shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Maloney avoids the body shot from Sole.
Sole swings for the body but Maloney moves out of range.
Maloney shoots in but no luck this time.
Jacks Sole has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Cohen Maloney.
Sloppy strikes from Sole. Those never looked like landing.
Maloney closes this distance looking for a takedown but Sole circles away.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Sole, right into the meat.
Jacks Sole seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Sole lands a slapping body shot.
Maloney throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Sole's waist but Sole gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Maloney off to one side.
Excellent takedown into side control there by Maloney.
Sole is looking to reverse the position.
Sole wants to control but Maloney postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sole tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Maloney is trying to get an arm triangle but Sole is defending well.

Sole gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Sole makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Sole.
Maloney postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Sole is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Maloney, into his guard.
Sole with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Sole stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Maloney swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Sole is in close to Maloney's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!
Sole keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Maloney's head.
That's two minutes gone in the round.

Sole is posturing up here but Maloney has hold of an arm and he's gone for an armbar! Sole tries to roll out but it's too tight and Sole has to tap! Slick submission there by Maloney!
