The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Taylor takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Taylor looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Taylor throws a head kick that misses.
Mata fails in his attempt to clinch.
Taylor clinches but Mata breaks the clinch
and Mata counters with a left to the body.
Nice straight punches there by Mata. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Mata.
Mata clinches with his opponent.
A nice left hand lands by Mata.
A short right from Mata on the inside.
Taylor's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!
Mata pushes Taylor back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head.
Taylor is rocked!
Mata lands a left hand.
Taylor is still on wobbly legs! Can Mata finish him?
Mata is clearly stalling here... Pick up the pace son.
Mata creates a bit of space for himself and rocks Taylor with a big uppercut! Taylor tries to clinch up but Mata pushes him back against the cage and lands another moster strike that crumples Taylor to the mat! Taylor covers up and Mata unloads with more strikes until the referee steps in to end the bout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:54 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Punches). Jose Mata!
