Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Justina Vanovcan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mike Puska (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vanovcan's entrance music is Moskau. A fine choice. Justina Vanovcan had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the bantamweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Justina Vanovcan!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 9 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Mike Puska!
The judges for this bout are Marco Blurström, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Puska displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Vanovcan.
Vanovcan shoots in and drives through. Puska sprawls well.
Vanovcan takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Puska misses with a jab, cross combination.

Puska closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Vanovcan is looking to regain half guard here but Puska keeps moving and retains side control.
Puska is staying tight to Vanovcan's torso, preventing him from escaping.

I looks like Puska might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Puska feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
