Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Ryan Richardson!
The judges for this bout are Damien Edna, John Mangel and Donatello Bradman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Richardson throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nice sprawl there from Severino as Richardson shoots in.
Severino misses with a double jab

and Richardson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Richardson.
Richardson works on Severino's body with a couple of short punches.

Richardson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Severino is breathing heavily.
Severino stuffs the takedown attempt from Richardson. Richardson gets slowly back to his feet.
Richardson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Severino stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Richardson pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Richardson has managed to clinch.
Richardson fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Tim Severino has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ryan Richardson.
Severino tries to circle away but Richardson has him pinned against the cage.

Richardson is looking to control Severino's arms but Severino gets an underhook and turns him. Now Richardson has his back to the cage.
Richardson tries for a takedown but Severino manages to get underhooks.

Severino blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Severino has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Richardson manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!

Richardson takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Richardson can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Severino is looking to escape.

Richardson wants to finish this one by submission but Severino is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Richardson.
Poor strikes thrown by Richardson there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Severino reaches up to try and control the position but Richardson seems to have an arm triangle now! Uh oh! Severino rolls and tries to escape and now Richardson has his back!

Richardson patiently working for the choke. Which fighter will keep their nerve here?
Severino tries to escape but Richardson has the hooks in and won't let him break free.
Richardson thows a huge left but connects with the canvas and not his opponent.
Richardson is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Severino can't escape the position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Richardson gets his hands free as Severino looks to control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Richardson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Severino swivels and escapes.
Severino could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

and Richardson counters with a crisp one two that drops Severino! Richardson thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Severino to his feet! Severino is in big trouble!

Richardson presses Severino against the cage and delivers a mid-strength body shot.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Richardson has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Severino is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Severino tries to break the clinch but Richardson is controlling the position.

Richardson jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Severino walks away with a smile on his face. Richardson gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Richardson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Richardson seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Severino does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Severino is looking for a sweep. Richardson is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Still in half guard, Richardson seems content to control.

Richardson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Severino defends it well.
Severino is staying active underneath Richardson, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Richardson is working for a kimura but Severino is defending it quite comfortably.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Richardson goes for a takedown in the clinch but Severino prevents it.
Richardson has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Severino is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Ryan Richardson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Richardson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
