Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Matthieu Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and josh hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Arvi Lind.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
hayes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Evans avoids it really well and circles away.
hayes rushes Evans and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
hayes lands with a short shot to the head.
hayes tries to pull guard but Evans won't allow it.
Evans works for underhooks and lands a body shot in the process.

hayes tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
hayes tries to score with some ground and pound. Evans controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Evans is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

hayes is taking a breather. Evans says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Evans is trying to stand up here but hayes is controlling him well.
Evans is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
hayes is keen to just control but Evans is a slippery customer.

OK we're going to have a standup here. josh hayes hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
hayes tries to close the distance and clinch up but Evans swats him away and circles back towards the center.
hayes has Evans up against the cage in a clinch.
Evans decides to pull guard.
Evans scrambles and gets back to his feet.
hayes shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Evans manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
hayes looks gassed!
Evans has a closed guard, preventing hayes from standing up.
Evans escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. hayes gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Evans is looking for a triangle but hayes pushes his legs off easily.
Evans lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for hayes!

Evans seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down hayes for as long as he can get away with.
hayes tries to reverse the position but Evans maintains control.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
hayes throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
hayes shoots in and bounces Evans off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Evans has his foot on hayes's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. hayes works his way back into a safe position though.
hayes throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Evans works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Evans wants to stand up but hayes is controlling him.

Matthieu Evans overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

hayes drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and hayes jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Evans had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. hayes defends it easily.

This one could be over very soon! hayes goes limp - he's gone! Evans jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
