Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Gabilondo Soler!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Kalishevski!
The judges for this bout are Dmitry Maklakov, Ivan Kurochkin and Viktor Lagutenko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Soler lands a slapping body shot.
Kalishevski misses with a head kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Soler. Kalishevski does a little dance to reset his feet.
Soler swings for the body but Kalishevski moves out of range.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kalishevski misses with an uppercut.

Kalishevski wants to clinch up but Soler keeps it at a distance.
Soler takes a swing at Kalishevski's ribcage but misses.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Soler moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Soler fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Kalishevski manages to avoid it.
Soler ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kalishevski moves away.

Soler tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kalishevski was well out of range. Poor timing from Soler.
Kalishevski throws a head kick that Soler semi-blocks.
Soler looks to score with a jab to the body but Kalishevski is just out of range.
Soler slips a straight right by Kalishevski.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Soler thows a body shot but no joy.
Soler misses the shot to the body.
Kalishevski tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Soler paws at him with a jab and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Gabilondo Soler will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Soler swats away the attempt to clinch by Kalishevski.

and Soler counters with a right hand to the body.

and Kalishevski counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Kalishevski unloads a knee to the mid-section. Soler lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Soler wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Kalishevski has him pressed against the cage.
Kalishevski lands a knee to the head.
Soler misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Soler looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Kalishevski throws a knee to the head but misses.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Kalishevski.
Kalishevski with the Thai clinch. He's looking to land a big knee but he's not managed it this time.
Kalishevski is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.

Soler manages to break the clinch.
Soler tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kalishevski was well out of range. Poor timing from Soler.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Soler thows a body shot but no joy.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Ivan Kalishevski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Kalishevski tries to close the distance and clinch but Soler swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Kalishevski is looking to clinch but Soler is avoiding it.
Soler swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Kalishevski counters with a head kick. That will keep Soler thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!
Ivan Kalishevski is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Gabilondo Soler seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Soler throws a hook but Kalishevski blocks it.
Kalishevski throws a head kick that misses.
Kalishevski on the wrong end of a nice jab.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Kalishevski throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Soler.
Soler misses the body punch
and Kalishevski counters with a nice low kick that buckles Soler's knee momentarily.
A looping hook to the body misses from Soler. Kalishevski does a little dance to reset his feet.
Kalishevski walks into a left hand.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Kalishevski tries to clinch
and Soler counters with a nice body shot.
Soler misses with a telegraphed body shot

and Kalishevski counters with a head kick that drops Soler to the mat! Soler scrambles across the canvas and gets back to his feet, still wobbly!


Soler is rocked!
Soler connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Soler is looking to wear down Kalishevski with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Soler swings and misses with a hook to the body.

And that's the end of the fight!
Ivan Kalishevski comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Kalishevski has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
