The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Martinez throws a right hand that Mooney ducks under and follows up with a left that Mooney also avoids with ease.
Mooney decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Mooney seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Martinez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Martinez keeps control of the position for the meantime.
It looks like Mooney is going to stand back up.
Martinez is pressing down on Mooney's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Mooney wants to control from the top but Martinez keeps moving.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Martinez works to advance to full mount. Mooney defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Martinez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Martinez has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Mooney's face.
Mooney tries to lock up and control but Martinez gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Martinez lands a big shot there that rocks Mooney but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Steven Mooney has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Roberto Martinez is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Martinez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
