Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Roke Junior (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Khalil Malla (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khalil Malla told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Roke Junior! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Khalil Malla! The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Hugh Johnson and Bruno Hogan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Horrible takedown by Malla or perhaps it was just good defense by Junior which made him look bad. Junior shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Junior showed some decent athleticism there. Junior controlling the pace. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Junior trying to mount his opponent but Malla defends it. Junior is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen. Malla looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's one minute gone in the round. Junior slows the pace down in half guard.
We're going to have a standup here because Roke Junior wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Junior tried to score with a low kick but Malla checks it. Junior changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Malla looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Malla tries to escape but Junior is in control. Junior decides to stand back up. Junior steps back and let's Malla get back to his feet. Junior shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Junior controlling his opponent. Junior working for a submission but Malla is keeping him at bay. Malla is trying desperately to improve position. Junior looking to control and managing it successfully. Junior mounts Malla! Really nice guard pass there!
That's three minutes gone in the round. Junior controlling his opponent. Malla is looking to get to half guard. Junior trying to control but he's not successful this time.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Junior controlling from mount. We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Roke Junior just wasn't active enough. Junior clinches. Junior lands a takedown into guard.
Junior trying to control but Malla is working from the bottom. Junior is really struggling to control Malla but he's trying to hold on to the position. Malla looks gassed! And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roke Junior dominated that round. That's time! Junior's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Malla darts in trying to clinch and Junior counters with a shoot takedown. Malla fights it but they end up in guard. Malla keeping moving, preventing Junior from controlling successfully. Malla trying to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Malla looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground. Junior darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Roke Junior overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Malla is breathing heavily. Junior content to control rather than advance. Junior seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Malla for as long as he can get away with.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work. Junior is keen to just control but Malla is a slippery customer.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Roke Junior. Junior looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Malla! Malla working to try and regain half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Junior trying to control but Malla is having none of it. Malla wants to hold on but Junior pushes him away. Junior controlling his opponent.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Roke Junior. Junior darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard. Junior controlling the action here. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Junior has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Roke Junior dominated that second round. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!
Junior closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Junior lands in his opponent's guard. Junior trying to control the position from guard on top but Malla is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Junior seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Junior might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Junior looking to sit in guard and control but Malla gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Roke Junior wasn't doing enough on the ground. Junior closes the distance and clinches. Junior lands a takedown into guard.
Malla takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. Malla is trying to keep Junior in close.
Junior controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Malla is looking to stand up but Junior isn't so interested in that idea.

He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Khalil Malla has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Roke Junior is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Malla throws a head kick that misses and Junior counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
And that's the end of the fight! Roke Junior showed his dominance in that final round. Well Junior has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
