PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Paul Stonehouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jack White (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stonehouse comes to the cage accompanied by Invaders Must Die. White comes into a darkened arena with his song building. The White Stripes - Ball and Biscuit kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 6 - 1, fighting out of London, Paul Stonehouse!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 5 - 1, fighting out of London, Jack White!
The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Paul Tew and Daniel Bishop.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
White lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

White closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Stonehouse did well to prevent White getting side control.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

White looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
White slips a nice elbow through Stonehouse's hands, connecting with Stonehouse's forehead.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
White lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Stonehouse wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and White is now in half guard.
White working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.

White closes the distance and clinches up with Stonehouse, looking for a takedown. White pushes Stonehouse against the cage but Stonehouse circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Paul Stonehouse is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
The fight stays on the outside here - Stonehouse looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

White shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than White was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Stonehouse is looking to improve his position but White isn't that keen on the idea.

White is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Stonehouse has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Stonehouse!

White drops back looking for a leg! Stonehouse is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Stonehouse manages to kick White off! White jumps back into Stonehouse's guard.

Jack White showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Stonehouse will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning White up against the cage.
