Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carmelo Caramelo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vasilii Oshchepkov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Caramelo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Razor. Oshchepkov comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Soviet National Anthem kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Carmelo Caramelo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vasilii Oshchepkov! The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Konstantin Menshow and Fedor Mirinova.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Oshchepkov misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Caramelo lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected. Oshchepkov tries to clinch up. Oshchepkov uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Caramelo.
Oshchepkov fails with a takedown attempt. Caramelo closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. Caramelo is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Oshchepkov sees it coming and defends easily. Oshchepkov looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. Oshchepkov wants to control but Caramelo is keeping busy and won't allow it. Caramelo seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Oshchepkov does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Caramelo thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Oshchepkov tries to roll over but Caramelo keeps him under control. Oshchepkov looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Oshchepkov manages to escape and get back to his feet! Caramelo throws a body kick that misses. Oshchepkov tries for a takedown but Caramelo sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Caramelo tries to clinch but Oshchepkov moves out of range. Caramelo misses with a double jab.

Oshchepkov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Caramelo defends it nicely. Oshchepkov looks gassed! Caramelo lunges at Oshchepkov with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Oshchepkov's hand. Oshchepkov on the wrong end of a kick to the body.

Caramelo throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Oshchepkov was covering up waiting for the punch and Caramelo finishes the takedown easily into guard. Caramelo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Caramelo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Oshchepkov keeping moving, preventing Caramelo from controlling successfully. Caramelo content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Caramelo lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Caramelo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Oshchepkov is keeping the position for now. Caramelo trying to control but Oshchepkov is working from the bottom. Caramelo landing with the ground and pound. Oshchepkov keeping moving, preventing Caramelo from controlling successfully. Oshchepkov thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Caramelo gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Caramelo slips a jab and a cross from Oshchepkov.
Oshchepkov will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Caramelo scores with a leg kick.
Caramelo tries to clinch there but Oshchepkov circles away.
Caramelo connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Oshchepkov takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Caramelo lands a glancing blow to the side of Oshchepkov's head. Caramelo moves into the clinch. Caramelo can't get the takedown.
Caramelo is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Oshchepkov pulls him back up using the underhooks. Caramelo is working Oshchepkov over against the cage. Oshchepkov prevents a takedown attempt there.
Caramelo has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Oshchepkov is trying to keep an underhook but Caramelo manages to get the takedown into half guard. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! It looks like Caramelo is going to stand back up.
Caramelo has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission. Oshchepkov blocking the ground and pound attempt from Caramelo.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Caramelo passes the guard and advances to mount! Oshchepkov just holding on. Caramelo wants to finish this one by submission but Oshchepkov is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Caramelo. Caramelo connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Caramelo connects with a couple of good shots from mount.

Caramelo uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Oshchepkov has time to react. Caramelo shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down. Carmelo Caramelo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Oshchepkov takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Oshchepkov shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Caramelo defends it nicely. Caramelo closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Oshchepkov quickly recovers to half guard. Caramelo wants to stand but Oshchepkov has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now. Caramelo is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Oshchepkov! Oshchepkov regains half guard. Caramelo working the head and body with strikes. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Carmelo Caramelo overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Caramelo lands a big elbow. Caramelo is working for a guillotine from mount but Oshchepkov frees his head quite easily.

Oshchepkov is desperately trying to improve his position but Caramelo has a good base and remains in mount. Caramelo is landing with some decent strikes but Oshchepkov is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue. Caramelo looking to control and managing it successfully. Caramelo tries to control but Oshchepkov wriggling away. Oshchepkov tries to get back to half guard but can't. Caramelo breaks from Oshchepkov's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Oshchepkov wants to control but Caramelo is having none of it. Caramelo putting on the heat here with some good ground and pound! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Caramelo trying to control but he's not successful this time. Oshchepkov is working to get back to half guard.
Oshchepkov in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head. Caramelo stands up from mount. Strange move. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Oshchepkov fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Caramelo lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Oshchepkov tries for a takedown but Caramelo circles away easily and Caramelo counters with a nice uppercut. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Carmelo Caramelo dominated that second round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!
Caramelo stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Carmelo Caramelo is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Caramelo fails with a takedown attempt. Oshchepkov throws a front kick aimed at Caramelo's knee but Caramelo avoids it well. A nice inside leg kick there by Caramelo. That's going to slow Oshchepkov down. Oshchepkov looks for a takedown but Caramelo sprawls well. Oshchepkov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Caramelo tries to reverse the position but Oshchepkov maintains control. Caramelo gets back to half guard. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Caramelo moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Caramelo is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Oshchepkov has his hands clasped together but Caramelo extends an breaks Oshchepkov's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Caramelo.
