Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Alex Escobedo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Axe Murderer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Escobedo might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to EL PECADOR. Axe Murderer will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Alex Escobedo! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Axe Murderer! The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Thiago Cunha and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Murderer throws a sloppy head kick and Escobedo moves out of range easily. Escobedo tries a head kick but it misses.
Escobedo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Escobedo pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Murderer is keeping the position for now. Escobedo is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Escobedo thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position. Murderer keeping full guard, as Escobedo tries to pass.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Escobedo slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Alex Escobedo wasn't doing enough on the ground. A head kick misses from Murderer. Escobedo closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Escobedo is looking to take a break and control but Murderer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Murderer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Escobedo. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Escobedo controlling from side mount.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. Escobedo is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Murderer is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. Escobedo staying calm. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Escobedo trying to control the position but Murderer is working away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A slapping leg kick lands for Murderer.
Murderer throws a leg kick that misses. Escobedo steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Murderer. That one must have hurt. Escobedo throws a leg kick but Murderer sees it coming and checks it nicely. Axe Murderer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Murderer throws a head kick that misses so Escobedo counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility. Escobedo is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Escobedo sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Murderer's guard. Escobedo is looking for a kimura but Murderer is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Escobedo to get the leverage. Escobedo frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount. Escobedo goes for an armbar but he's not got it… Murderer turns into him and now he's in Escobedo's guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Escobedo tries to land a sweep but no joy. Murderer got a little sloppy there for a moment and Escobedo has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Murderer has managed to get both his arms back between Escobedo's legs - danger averted. Murderer tries to free his leg and advance position but Escobedo is retaining full guard. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Escobedo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Escobedo looking for a guillotine here but Murderer defends easily.

Murderer looking to sit in guard and control but Escobedo gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Murderer controls Escobedo momentarily but Escobedo frees himself.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet. Escobedo tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though. Escobedo is looking to take a break and control but Murderer is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom. Murderer moves out of range of the body kick. Murderer throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. A momentary lapse in concentration from Murderer enables Escobedo to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Murderer manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Escobedo trying to control the position from guard on top but Murderer is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Escobedo drops back looking for a leg! Murderer is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Murderer manages to kick Escobedo off! Escobedo jumps back into Murderer's guard. Escobedo shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away. Escobedo wants to take Murderer's back but he can't do it this time. Escobedo looking to secure an arm triangle but Murderer defends it well.

And that's the end of the fight! Alex Escobedo showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Escobedo, winning every round. Will the judges agree?
