Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deckard Cain (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabi PauNeles (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Gabi PauNeles was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Emerson Jorge.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cain throws a head kick but PauNeles moves out of range.
Deckard Cain seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cain shoots in and drives through. PauNeles sprawls well.
Cain looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for PauNeles!
Cain controlling the position easily from mount.
PauNeles tries to lock up and control but Cain gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
PauNeles is wriggling around trying to escape.

PauNeles is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Cain is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But PauNeles has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from PauNeles!
Cain manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. PauNeles manages to get himself to full guard.
Cain is in close to PauNeles's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Cain drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but PauNeles manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Cain has PauNeles in his guard.
PauNeles gets to his feet - Cain follows without any prompting.
Cain shoots in but PauNeles avoids the takedown attempt easily.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Cain.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deckard Cain. That's going to take a lot out of him.

PauNeles circles away from the clinch attempt
and PauNeles counters by clinching up.
PauNeles has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Cain is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Cain is looking for a takedown up against the cage. PauNeles gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Cain is fighting off a takedown attempt but PauNeles is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Cain to the mat. Cain regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

PauNeles throwing strikes but missing.
PauNeles is fighting to break Cain's control of his arms but Cain is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

PauNeles might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cain kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Gabi PauNeles was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Cain wants to control from the top but PauNeles keeps moving.
PauNeles is trying to control the position but Cain postures up.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
PauNeles is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Cain is aware though and is defending well.
Cain is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

That's time! Cain's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

PauNeles is looking to chop away at Cain's legs.
Cain looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Cain looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Cain thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing PauNeles to regain full guard.
Cain stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. PauNeles swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now PauNeles is on top in guard.
PauNeles trying to control but Cain is working from the bottom.

Cain looking to hit a scissor sweep but PauNeles is one step ahead there.
Cain looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Cain wants to control the position but PauNeles says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
PauNeles wants to control from the top but Cain keeps moving.

PauNeles seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Cain does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Cain wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by PauNeles.
PauNeles looking to control but Cain is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cain is trapped and PauNeles is scoring with shots to the head and body.
Cain tries to escape the position.
Cain prevents PauNeles from getting a body triangle.
PauNeles looking to break Cain's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Cain remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise PauNeles will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
PauNeles is trying to control but Cain is trying to escape here - he's now mounted.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cain wants to hold on but PauNeles pushes him away.
PauNeles wants to control the pace but Cain is squirming around nicely.
Cain looking to escape from mount but he's given up his back!

Gabi PauNeles showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

PauNeles shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Cain is trying to defend but PauNeles finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
