Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Dan Desouza (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Reuben Bet (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bet has chosen Queen - The Invisible Man as his entrance music. Reuben Bet has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Desouza! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Reuben Bet ! The judges for this bout are Matheus Silva, Paulo Santos and Edson Gomes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Desouza swings for the body but Bet moves out of range.
Desouza gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Bet ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Desouza clinches up with Bet and pushes him back against the cage. Bet jumps into guard, dragging Desouza to the mat.
Desouza postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect. Bet escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Desouza gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance. Desouza landing with the ground and pound. Desouza throws a big right hand that misses. Bet looking to sweep here. No luck so far. Bet working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Desouza doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Desouza manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Desouza cracks Bet with a solid left hand. Desouza throwing strikes but missing. Bet wants to stand and escape but Desouza is having none of it.
That's one minute gone in the round. Desouza works over Bet with some ground and pound from guard. Desouza missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Bet keeping moving, preventing Desouza from controlling successfully. Desouza slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Desouza looks up at the clock and then as Bet takes his cue and looks up at the clock too, Desouza smacks him right in the chops with a big elbow! How rude!
Desouza wants to control but Bet is keeping him busy. Desouza in side control, throwing shots but Bet defends. Desouza lands a knee to the body and a forearm to the face. Bet is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard. Desouza scores with a couple of good hammerfists. Bet keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound. Desouza is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound. Bet avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Desouza.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Bet is trying to stand back up but Desouza is controlling him

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Desouza working over Bet with some ground and pound. Bet looks like he wants out of this position, which is understandable. Bet makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Bet . Desouza wants to control from the top but Bet keeps moving. Desouza slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Bet gets back to half guard. Desouza wants to take a breather but Bet is having none of it. Desouza controlling the action here. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Bet trying to control from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Desouza is trying to work for a kimura but Bet is defending well.

Desouza decides to stand up. Desouza cracks Bet with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage. Desouza with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Desouza closes the distance and clinches. Desouza jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Bet walks away with a smile on his face. Desouza gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Bet works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance. Bet moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. Bet moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Donk. Desouza catches Bet right on the button with a cross. Bet stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Desouza. Bet thows a body shot but no joy. Bet looks gassed! Desouza keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
No joy there for Bet , who threw a few shots but didn't land.
No luck for Desouza with that takedown attempt. Bet gets tackled into the cage by Desouza. Desouza maintains the clinch. Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show! Desouza goes for a takedown in the clinch but Bet prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dan Desouza. That's going to take a lot out of him. Desouza pulls guard. Bet forces his way into half guard. As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Bet is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Desouza sees it coming and defends easily. Desouza kicks off Bet and gets to his feet. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Dan Desouza dominated that round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Dan Desouza seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Bet , as that shot connected.
Desouza moves in looking to clinch but Bet pushes him off. Bet takes a shot to the body in his stride.

Bet bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Desouza's head backwards. Bet fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Desouza takes the fight into the clinch. Desouza is working for takedown but Bet is calmly controlling the position for now. Desouza tightens his grip and picks Bet up, before dumping him to the ground. Bet manages to land in guard. Desouza tries to free his leg and advance position but Bet is retaining full guard. Bet wants to stand up but Desouza is controlling him. Bet is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Bet is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first. Desouza seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Bet is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Desouza is controlling him. Bet avoiding any damage from the ground and pound. Desouza working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Bet wants to get back to his feet but Desouza is in a dominant position and won't allow it. Desouza in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Desouza accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand. Desouza stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bet swivels though and keeps the full guard. Desouza trying to control the position from guard on top but Bet is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Dan Desouza overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Bet looking for a guillotine here but Desouza defends easily.

He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Desouza has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Desouza! Desouza loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry. Desouza with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal. Bet is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Dan Desouza is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Desouza trying to control but Bet is working from the bottom. Desouza postures up and lands a big shot to Bet 's brow. Bet is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Desouza is aware though and is defending well. Desouza is working Bet over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes. Desouza is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
And that's the end of the fight! Dan Desouza showed his dominance in that final round. Well I reckon that's a shut out for Desouza, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
