1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Esteynid Adelar! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Alexandre Firmino and Matheus Silva.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Adelar showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Costa.
Costa tries to clinch up but Adelar circles away and keeps his distance. Adelar wants to clinch and Costa holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Costa wants to get back to striking at distance but Adelar won't allow it.
Adelar tries for a takedown. No joy.
Adelar tries to score a body lock takedown but Costa shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Adelar is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Costa pulls him back up using the underhooks. Manuel Costa has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Esteynid Adelar. Costa tries to break free but Adelar pushes him back against the cage. Costa wants to break free but Adelar has control.
Adelar is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Costa gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt. Costa tries to circle away but Adelar has him pinned against the cage. Adelar drops down looking for an ankle pick but Costa pulls his leg out and moves away.
Adelar shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Costa sprawls well. Costa wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Adelar gets slowly back to his feet. Nice straight punches there by Costa. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Costa.
It looks like Esteynid Adelar has been cut.
That's one minute gone in the round. Adelar wants to clinch but Costa slips to the side letting Costa counter with a right hand. Costa misses with a wild combination.
Adelar gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Costa holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Adelar prevents Costa from breaking the clinch. Costa has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Adelar is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. Adelar has Costa pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Costa manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing. Adelar has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Costa jumps guard and drags Adelar to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back. Costa wants to stand up but Adelar is controlling him. Costa working a defensive guard here.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. Adelar wants to control from the top but Costa keeps moving. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Manuel Costa dominated that round. The cut man is working on Esteynid Adelar's cut. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
Costa moves into the clinch. Adelar is trying to drag Costa to the mat but Costa just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Adelar tries for a takedown. No joy.

Adelar is fighting off a takedown attempt but Costa is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Adelar to the mat. Adelar regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. Adelar uses the cage to get back to his feet.
Manuel Costa is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Costa digs a good hook to Adelar's body.
Costa moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Adelar shoots for a takedown but Costa saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. Manuel Costa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Adelar is breathing heavily.

Adelar fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Costa thows a body shot but no joy. Costa tries to clinch up but Adelar circles away and keeps his distance. Costa lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Costa. Adelar slips under a jab from Costa. Costa lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Adelar circles away quickly and effectively. Costa closes the distance and pushes Adelar back into the cage. Adelar looking for a takedown. Adelar goes for a takedown in the clinch but Costa prevents it.

Costa breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat. Adelar is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Costa. Costa lands a big right hand and follows it up with an uppercut. Oh and another big punch and a knee - Adelar can't take much more of this! Another big shot to the jaw from Costa and Adelar drops to the floor. Beaten and bloodied - he had enough there. A vicious beatdown by Costa.
