Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the middleweight championship of the world!

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rory Markman!
The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Anthony Taglia and David Schapiro.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coughlin avoids a kick to the body.

Coughlin closes the distance and pushes Markman back into the cage.

Markman remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Markman creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Coughlin sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rory Markman dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Markman shoots in for a takedown but Coughlin shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Markman works to advance to full mount. Coughlin defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
Markman has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Coughlin's face.
BOOM! Markman connects with a massive shot to the dome!

Oh Coughlin is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Coughlin is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Coughlin seems to have got his legs back now.

Markman cracks Coughlin with a big head shot that has him covering up instantly! He's rolled onto his side and the referee has seen enough - this one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:04 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rory Markman!
