Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Sigmund Freud! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
10 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Keith Higham! The judges for this bout are , and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Higham connects with the punch. Freud bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Higham's head backwards. Higham dives in and grabs Freud's left leg, looking for a takedown. Freud pushes down on Higham's head and hops out. Freud fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Higham, pushing him back against the cage. Higham is trying to break the clinch but Freud is controlling him. Higham tries to break free but Freud pushes him back against the cage. Freud pushes Higham back against the cage and lands a hook to the side of the head. Higham jumps guard but Freud stands there with Higham around his waist. Higham gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Freud breaks the clinch.
Higham changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Freud tries to avoid it but Higham manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Freud to the ground. Freud escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet. Sigmund Freud has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Keith Higham. Freud rushes Higham and presses him up against the cage. Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Freud. A short uppercut from Freud. Both fighters working to control the clinch. Freud manages to break the clinch.
Freud misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Higham.
Higham fails with a takedown attempt. Higham has a takedown stuffed. Higham shoots in for a double leg but Freud sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
That's one minute gone in the round. Higham shoots in and bounces Freud off the cage to secure the takedown into guard. Freud looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Higham stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Freud swivels though and keeps the full guard. Higham trying to control the position from guard on top but Freud is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Freud working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Higham doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Higham manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem. Freud is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Higham defends well. Higham thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Freud is looking for a triangle but Higham pushes his legs off easily.
Higham is sitting in close to Freud's body. Freud has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Higham is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Higham is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Freud.
