Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Sub Zero (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wayne Kemp (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Kemp has chosen SuperSonic by Pearl Jam as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
6 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Sub Zero! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Wayne Kemp! The judges for this bout are , Timothy Bukovac and Frank Antenori.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Zero moves in looking to clinch but Kemp pushes him off. Zero wants to clinch up but Kemp keeps it at a distance. Kemp sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs. Sub Zero seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Nice body kick from Zero. Zero lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Zero lands a leg kick that knocks Kemp off balance momentarily. Zero tries to close the distance and clinch up but Kemp swats him away and circles back towards the center. Zero throws a nice head kick!
Zero throws a series of punches but Kemp moves out of range. Kemp stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Kemp wants it to stay on the feet. Kemp throws a body punch but Zero moves out of range. Zero connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. This has been an exciting period of action! Zero misses with a body kick. Zero looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Kemp is fending him off so far but Zero persists. Nope, Kemp circles away and we're back to standing. Zero feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Kemp's calf.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zero buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
Zero fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Kemp avoids it really well and circles away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sub Zero. That's going to take a lot out of him. Zero drives through and clinches with Kemp against the cage.

Zero scores with a hook to the body. Zero tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Kemp smiles and moves away.
Kemp takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Kemp looks gassed! Kemp keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl. Zero changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kemp looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zero is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kemp has escaped the position, nice work there. Zero tries to advance to mount but Kemp denies him. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Zero looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Zero wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kemp keeps working. This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff! Zero tries for a kimura but Kemp is defending well. Kemp is looking for a sweep. Zero has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Kemp! Zero has hold of Kemp's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Kemp manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Kemp keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Zero with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.
Zero working for a submission but Kemp is keeping him at bay. Kemp is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Kemp is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Zero working for a guillotine from mount but Kemp is in no mood to give up. Zero jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Kemp manages to avoid the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zero is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Kemp has escaped the position, nice work there. Zero tries to move to mount but Kemp blocks the move with his legs. Zero has hold of Kemp's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Kemp tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Zero cranks the arm and Kemp screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Kemp, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Americana). Sub Zero! Sub Zero retains his light heavyweight title!
