Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sherman Tribbett! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Tyson Dos Santos! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Tiny Johnson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Dos Santos tries to score a power double leg takedown but Tribbett sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Dos Santos somewhat. Tribbett finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.
Dos Santos pushes Tribbett away with a front kick. Dos Santos has managed to clinch.
Dos Santos connects with a knee to the head.
Tribbett tries to pull guard but Dos Santos holds him up against the cage and eventually Tribbett drops back down to his feet.
Dos Santos lands a knee to the head.
Dos Santos misses with a knee to the head. Dos Santos creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Tribbett's defenses. Tribbett fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Dos Santos scores a nice knee to the body.
Tribbett tries to stall but Dos Santos uses the opportunity to gain a better position.
Tribbett takes a knee right on the jaw!
Dos Santos with the Thai clinch, lands a knee to the head. Tribbett has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Dos Santos is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Sherman Tribbett. That's going to take a lot out of him. Dos Santos with a knee to the head.
Tribbett tries to pull guard but Dos Santos holds him up against the cage and eventually Tribbett drops back down to his feet.

Dos Santos will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Tribbett up against the cage.

Dos Santos prevents a takedown attempt there.
Tribbett is trying to drag Dos Santos to the mat but Dos Santos just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there. Tribbett tries to pull guard but Dos Santos holds him up against the cage and eventually Tribbett drops back down to his feet.
Tribbett is breathing heavily. Tribbett drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Tribbett jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dos Santos walks away with a smile on his face. Tribbett gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Dos Santos lets loose with a powerful body kick. Tribbett will feel that in the morning. Tribbett tries to clinch and Dos Santos counters with a good low kick that Tribbett was not able to check. A head kick by Tribbett misses and Dos Santos counters by moving into the clinch. Tribbett jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Dos Santos walks away with a smile on his face. Tribbett gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Dos Santos misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Tribbett.
Tribbett closes the distance but Dos Santos moves to the side and Dos Santos counters by moving into the clinch. Tribbett takes a knee right on the jaw!
The referee calls for Dos Santos to work.
Tribbett is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. A short right hand to the side of the head by Dos Santos. Tribbett has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate. Dos Santos landing knees to the head.
Dos Santos has Tribbett pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dos Santos pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Tribbett tumbling to the mat - Dos Santos dives into Tribbett's guard. Dos Santos must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu. Dos Santos wants to stand but Tribbett has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Dos Santos postures up.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Tribbett is looking to sinch up a triangle. Dos Santos throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Tribbett's body to avoid the submission. Tribbett has instead reached around Dos Santos's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Tribbett arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
