Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jorge Santiago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Frederik Kraus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Jorge Santiago ! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frederik Kraus! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Aafke Stam and Albert Achterberg.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Kraus wants to clinch. Kraus bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes. Santiago tries to bum rush Kraus with a series of wild strikes but Kraus uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Kraus changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Santiago looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better. Santiago regains half guard, as Kraus was trying to land strikes. Santiago trying to control from the bottom.

Kraus wants to work for an arm triangle but Santiago is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Santiago is looking to control Kraus's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Santiago avoid being mounted? Santiago looks like he's trying to stand up.

Santiago manages to escape and get back to his feet! Santiago is breathing heavily. Santiago looks to score with a jab to the body but Kraus is just out of range. Santiago misses with a jab, cross combination.
Kraus closes this distance looking for a takedown but Santiago circles away. Kraus shoots in but no luck this time. Jorge Santiago has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Frederik Kraus. Santiago ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Kraus moves away. Santiago blocks a head kick by Kraus.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Kraus is defended easily by Santiago . Santiago throws a looping overhand right but Kraus ducks down to avoid it. Kraus gets a takedown into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Santiago moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Kraus throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent. Hammerfist, elbow! yells Kraus's corner. There ya go! There ya go! Kraus working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage. Kraus wants to stand but Santiago has a closed guard, so he can't escape. Kraus throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Santiago works some decent striking defense from the bottom. Kraus trying to control the position from guard on top but Santiago is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring. Santiago is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Kraus stands up and waves to Santiago to follow him. Kraus throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Santiago was covering up waiting for the punch and Kraus finishes the takedown easily into guard. Kraus content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots. Kraus stands up from Santiago 's guard - Kraus perhaps looking for a knockout. Santiago tries to bum rush Kraus with a series of wild strikes but Kraus uses good footwork to avoid the assault. Santiago throws a right and a left that both miss.
That's five minutes gone in the round. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kraus. Santiago tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Kraus was well out of range. Poor timing from Santiago . Kraus uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Santiago . Nice takedown defense from Santiago . No joy for Kraus on that attempt. Santiago gets caught flat footed, as Kraus shoots in with a quick takedown into guard. Santiago is working an open guard so Kraus takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Santiago throws a big shot that misses. Kraus has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him. Kraus avoids a punch combination nicely.
Santiago lands with a nice body punch. Kraus uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Santiago .
Santiago is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Kraus. Santiago misses the jab. Kraus uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Santiago . Santiago looks to score with a jab to the body but Kraus is just out of range. Jorge Santiago is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
That's six minutes gone in the round. The fighters circling - Santiago throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Kraus drives through with a takedown into guard. Santiago working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Kraus. Santiago is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control. Kraus gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. Kraus shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kraus was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure! This has been an exciting period of action! Kraus scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Santiago ?

That's eight minutes gone in the round. A nice elbow there by Kraus. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out! Santiago is squirming around, avoiding Kraus's attempts to control the action. Kraus landing strikes, looking to finish! Santiago taking shots to the head.
Santiago is rocked! Kraus with the ground and pound from mount. Oh Santiago is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!! Kraus is in the full mount, landing strikes. Kraus has control of Santiago 's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Santiago regains control of the situation pretty easily.

He can't get free though and several more unanswered shots from Kraus land to the head. The referee has no choice but to stop the fight. Kraus stands and salutes the crowd.
