Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Frank Mir! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Carlos Condit! The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Patrick Alders and Aafke Stam.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Condit rushes Mir and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch. Mir goes for a takedown in the clinch but Condit prevents it.
Mir really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape. Condit lands a good knee to the midsection. Mir won't want to take too many of those. Condit throws an elbow but it's blocked.
Mir wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

That's four minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
We're going to have a standup here because Frank Mir wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Condit misses with a takedown and Mir counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Mir. Mir won't allow Condit to get back to his feet. Mir looking to pass the guard. Mir engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Condit wants to get back to his feet but Mir is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
That's six minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up because Frank Mir just wasn't active enough. Condit swats away the attempt to clinch by Mir. Condit shoots in but doesn't get the takedown and Mir counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Mir content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Condit is refusing to be controlled, as Mir sits in half guard. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup. It looks like Mir is going to stand back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Frank Mir wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. Mir closes the distance looking to clinch and Condit counters with an outside leg kick.
That's eight minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Mir doesn't succeed with the takedown and Condit holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch. Condit trying to land knees to the body.
Mir is trying to break the clinch but Condit has him pressed against the ropes. Condit landing knees to the body.

Mir jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Condit walks away with a smile on his face. Mir gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Carlos Condit seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Mir shoots in for a takedown but Condit shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Condit tries for a takedown but Mir circles away easily and Mir counters with a single leg into guard. Condit didn't expect that. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Frank Mir dominated that round. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!
Mir fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Mir tries to clinch but Condit moves away and Condit counters with a nice kick to the body. Mir fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Mir darts in trying to clinch and Condit counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Condit stays in close to Mir's body and controls the position. Condit trying to control the position from guard on top but Mir is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Condit tries to free his leg and advance position but Mir is retaining full guard. Frank Mir overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
That's one minute gone in the round. Condit stands and throws Mir's legs to the side, diving into side control. Condit has knee on belly and moves into mount. Condit has hold of Mir's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Mir manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Condit is looking to work his way around to Mir's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position. Mir knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Condit on the ground.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Condit mounts Mir! Really nice guard pass there! Mir is trying to stand up. Condit looking to control but Mir is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Mir is controlling an arm, preventing Condit from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Condit tries to keep control of the position but Mir is staying busy. Mir is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet. Condit struggling to land strikes to the head as Mir covers up. Mir is trying to stand back up. Mir staying busy and making it hard for Condit to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Condit is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Condit is striking well from the back but Mir escapes and manages to control the positon and works his way to half guard. A much better position - the crisis is over for the time being. Condit is taking a breather. Mir says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. Carlos Condit wasn't active enough on the ground. Condit shoots and misses and Mir counters with a single leg into guard. Condit didn't expect that. Mir looking to control the position here, rather than advance. Mir trying to control but Condit is working from the bottom.
That's six minutes gone in the round. Condit is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Mir is controlling him. Mir looking to sit in guard and control but Condit gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Mir is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Condit is controlling him.
That's seven minutes gone in the round. Mir can't keep his opponent in guard - Condit advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount. The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves. Condit stops Mir from getting back to his feet.
Condit is working for a kimura but Mir is defending it quite comfortably.

That's eight minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Condit seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Mir does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Condit is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Condit is trying to get an arm triangle but Mir is defending well. Condit tries to move into full mount but can't pass Mir's legs. The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
That's nine minutes gone in the round. Condit wants to control but Mir is keeping him busy. Condit works to advance to full mount. Mir defends for a few seconds but eventually he succumbs.
And that's the end of the fight! Carlos Condit comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I have no idea who won that fight. Let's wait and see whether the judges are as confused as me! Time for a split decision perhaps?!. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
