Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Leandro Podogo!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Vlad Vovkov!
The judges for this bout are Aleksei Zolotukhin, Dmitry Maklakov and Sergei Dronov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vovkov shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Vovkov wants to finish this one by submission but Podogo is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Vovkov.
Podogo is in all sorts of trouble here.
Podogo has given up his back here. Will Vovkov look for the submission or keep pounding away?

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vovkov is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Podogo has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here.

Podogo manages to reverse the position and now he's in Vovkov's guard. Nice work there by Podogo.

Podogo drops back looking for a leg! Vovkov is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Vovkov manages to kick Podogo off! Podogo jumps back into Vovkov's guard.
Podogo has gone for a leg lock! Vovkov slips out almost immediately though and dives into Podogo's guard.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Vovkov thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Vovkov wants to pass the guard but Podogo is keeping the position.

Podogo looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
Vovkov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.

Vovkov trying to control the position from guard on top but Podogo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Podogo is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vovkov is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Podogo will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Vovkov stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Podogo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Vovkov is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Podogo has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Vovkov is looking to defend but Podogo has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Vovkov! Podogo pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Vovkov taps out and this one is all over!
