Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Morrison (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cesar Halo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Morrison's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Jingle Bell Knock Out. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Morrison!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Cesar Halo!
The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Wesley Smith and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left lands for Halo.
Morrison cracks a nice hook into Halo's ribs.
Morrison displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Halo throws out the jab.
Morrison avoids a punch combination nicely.
Halo throws a hook but Morrison blocks it.
Cesar Halo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Halo swings for the body but Morrison moves out of range.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Morrison.

Morrison darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Halo is not content to let Morrison control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Morrison trying to mount his opponent but Halo defends it.

Morrison is trying to work for a kimura but Halo is defending well.
Morrison is trying to control. Halo wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Morrison passes to full mount!
Halo blocking the ground and pound.
Morrison tries to control but Halo wriggling away.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Morrison is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Halo has managed to escape the submission attempt.

It looks like John Morrison has been cut.
Cesar Halo is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

Morrison tries to land a front kick but Halo steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Morrison moves away from the strike by Halo.
Morrison is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Halo throws a lazy right hand but Morrison sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Morrison counters by moving into the clinch.
Halo wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Morrison has him pressed against the cage.

Halo successfully pulls guard.
Morrison stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Halo swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Halo is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Morrison trying to control the position from guard on top but Halo is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Morrison is working hard here to advance position.
Morrison forces his way into half guard.
Morrison wants to advance to full mount but Halo doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Halo keeping moving, preventing Morrison from controlling successfully.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that John Morrison will probably get the nod.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Horrible takedown by Morrison or perhaps it was just good defense by Halo which made him look bad.

Halo steps to his left, right into the path of a big body kick from Morrison. That one must have hurt.

Morrison throws a low kick, looking for Halo's leg but Halo calmly moves out of range.
A slapping body kick lands there for Morrison.

Halo catches Morrison with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Halo darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Halo keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Morrison tries to work over Halo's front leg with a kick but Halo checks it.
Morrison throws a leg kick but Halo sees it coming and moves out of range.

Morrison shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Morrison moves to the back position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Morrison is remaining active here, looking for the choke. The more discerning members of the crowd will appreciate his efforts.

Morrison struggling to keep hold of the position.
Morrison trying to secure his dominant position for a moment - making sure Halo doesn't escape.
Morrison doesn't have the hooks in and Halo manages to turn into his guard.
Halo trying to control the position from guard on top but Morrison is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Morrison looking for a sweep. Not yet Morrison, not yet.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Morrison is on top in guard.

Morrison pushing down on Halo's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Morrison thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Halo is not content to let Morrison control the position.
Morrison frees up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Halo is breathing heavily.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Morrison swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Halo is now in Morrison's guard. A big mistake from Morrison there, giving up the dominant position!
Morrison seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Halo looks to throw the jab but Morrison is out of range.
Halo misses with a looping left.

Morrison closes the distance and pushes Halo back into the cage.
Morrison tries to score a body lock takedown but Halo shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Halo prevents a takedown attempt there.
Morrison has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Halo avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

Morrison has Halo pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Halo manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Halo is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Morrison is defending well for now.

Halo leaves Morrison with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Morrison counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Halo's guard now.
Morrison wants to control from the top but Halo keeps moving.

Morrison drops back looking for a leg! Halo is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Halo manages to kick Morrison off! Morrison jumps back into Halo's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Morrison tries to pass to full mount but Halo defends it.
Morrison is looking to take a break and control but Halo is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Morrison looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Morrison seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Halo does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Halo trying to hold on to Morrison's head to control him but Morrison postures up.
Morrison wants to advance to full mount but Halo doesn't think that's going to happen and regains full guard instead.
Morrison passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Halo takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Morrison trying to control the position but Halo is working away.
Morrison has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Cesar Halo has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Morrison looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
John Morrison overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Morrison mounts Halo! Really nice guard pass there!
Halo is squirming around, avoiding Morrison's attempts to control the action.

Morrison jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Halo is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Halo and Morrison has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Morrison showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Morrison, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
