Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the featherweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Snatches O Coolahand! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Leyeyasu Tokugawa! The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Yukihiro Yamamoto.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Tokugawa fails to land the takedown. Tokugawa shoots in and drives through. O Coolahand sprawls well. Leyeyasu Tokugawa seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. O Coolahand lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
O Coolahand digs a good hook to Tokugawa's body.
Tokugawa fails with a takedown attempt. Snatches O Coolahand has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leyeyasu Tokugawa. O Coolahand slaps away a takedown attempt from Tokugawa, before circling back to the center of the mat. Tokugawa avoids a lazy jab quite easily. O Coolahand lands a nice looking body shot.
O Coolahand thows a body shot but no joy. O Coolahand throws a hook to the side of Tokugawa's head but Tokugawa sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully. O Coolahand scores with a jab. O Coolahand stuns Tokugawa with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Tokugawa looks gassed! O Coolahand scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
That's one minute gone in the round. O Coolahand stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and O Coolahand wants it to stay on the feet. O Coolahand throws an overhand right that lands on Tokugawa's shoulder, as Tokugawa tries to avoid the shot. O Coolahand scores with a jab. O Coolahand connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Tokugawa momentarily.
Tokugawa gets cracked with a nice right hand there by O Coolahand. A jab from O Coolahand finds it's way through Tokugawa's defenses. O Coolahand throws a shot from downtown. Tokugawa moves away and avoids it. O Coolahand works the jab nicely. Snatches O Coolahand is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. O Coolahand swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Tokugawa blocks a jab. O Coolahand scores with a big left there. The judges will like that one. Tokugawa looks for a takedown but O Coolahand sprawls well. Tokugawa will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. O Coolahand is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Nice cross by O Coolahand. This has been an exciting period of action! Tokugawa takes one on the button. Tokugawa moves out of range of the strikes. O Coolahand scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Tokugawa is rocked! O Coolahand drops Tokugawa with a straight left! Oh this is bad for Tokugawa! O Coolahand dives in and starts dropping bombs - the referee has no choice but to step in and save him!
