Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Justin Riddle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brad Charyak (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Brad Charyak was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world! Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
10 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Justin Riddle! And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Brad Charyak! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Steve Montenegro and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Riddle stuns Charyak with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range. Charyak tries a switch kick but it misses it's target. Charyak tries to clinch there but Riddle circles away.
Charyak misses with an uppercut. Riddle throws a head kick that misses. Charyak shoots in for a takedown but Riddle shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. Charyak throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Riddle sees it coming and avoids it easily. Riddle stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Charyak. An inside leg kick from Riddle misses. Brad Charyak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Charyak tries to clinch but Riddle is having none of it. Some wild striking there from Riddle.

Charyak thows a leg kick but Riddle checks it and Riddle counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. A head kick by Riddle misses and Charyak counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Riddle's guard now. Riddle keeping moving, preventing Charyak from controlling successfully. Charyak is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
That's one minute gone in the round. Riddle looking to sweep here. No luck so far. The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup. Charyak advances to half guard. Charyak controlling the action here. Charyak is stalling here. Riddle is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Charyak seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Riddle has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work. Charyak is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.

Riddle would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard. Charyak not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Charyak wants to sweep but no luck. Charyak pulls Riddle in close to prevent any damage. Charyak looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Riddle puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.

Charyak bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Riddle's guard. Charyak tries to free his leg and advance position but Riddle is retaining full guard. Charyak with a nice head shot there. Riddle preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage. Charyak controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling. Charyak is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact. Riddle keeping moving, preventing Charyak from controlling successfully.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Charyak throws and elbow that misses. Riddle uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Charyak's guard. Nice move by Riddle! The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily. Riddle preventing the sweep. Charyak wants to hit a switch here but Riddle passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Charyak there! Charyak tries to get back to half guard but can't. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Riddle takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh. Charyak throws a chopping leg kick but Riddle manages to avoid taking any serious damage. Charyak blocks a jab. Charyak tries to close the distance and clinch but Riddle swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Charyak misses with a kick to the body and Riddle counters with a head kick. That will keep Charyak thinking before he tries any more sloppy attacks!

Riddle takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! A low kick from Charyak misses letting Riddle counter with a right hand. Riddle tried to score with a low kick but Charyak checks it. Charyak throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

That took the wind out of him momentarily. Justin Riddle is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Riddle throws out a loose jab but Charyak uses good head movement to avoid it. Riddle scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business. A nice inside leg kick there by Riddle. That's going to slow Charyak down. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy. Charyak scores with a jab. Riddle acknowledges it with a nod of the head. Charyak connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there. Charyak needs to keep his hands up - Riddle had a free shot at his head there. Charyak throws a left and a right that both miss
and Riddle counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Riddle throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land. Charyak doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Charyak closes the distance looking to clinch and Riddle makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Riddle scores with a slapping inside leg kick. Horrible takedown by Charyak or perhaps it was just good defense by Riddle which made him look bad. Charyak throws a sloppy head kick and Riddle moves out of range easily. Riddle lands a jab-cross combination. Riddle lands a lovely overhand right. Riddle uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Charyak.

Charyak digs a right hand into Riddle's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Riddle's gas tank. Charyak is pushing Riddle up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word. Riddle takes a knee right on the jaw!
