PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between shawn mendes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Igor Baravski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). mendes comes to the cage accompanied by we lie we cheat we steal. Baravski comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Punch Out kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 1, fighting out of New York, shawn mendes!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Igor Baravski!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Alyssa Summers and John Kavanagh.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
mendes dives in and grabs Baravski's left leg, looking for a takedown. Baravski pushes down on mendes's head and hops out.
mendes slaps away a takedown attempt from Baravski, before circling back to the center of the mat.

and Baravski decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in mendes's guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Igor Baravski showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Baravski has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed mendes clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Baravski is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Baravski gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Baravski gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Baravski apologises and we restart here on the feet.

Well Baravski has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
