Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Robert Buddy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Collins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Robert Buddy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Fred Collins!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, John Mangel and Winston Howard.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Collins misses with a looping left.
Collins misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Buddy swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
A looping hook to the body misses from Buddy. Collins does a little dance to reset his feet.
Collins misses with a few strikes there.
Collins is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Buddy.
Buddy keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Collins.
Collins throws a big shot that misses.
Collins slips a straight right by Buddy.
Collins takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Buddy changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Collins uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Buddy.
Buddy scores with a hook to the body. Collins takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Buddy throws a lazy right hand but Collins sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Collins looks to land a combination but Buddy avoids it well.
Collins rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Buddy moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Collins pushes Buddy off and gets back to his feet.

Collins is wriggling around but Buddy manages to pass to half guard.

Fred Collins seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Collins lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Robert Buddy has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Buddy feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Buddy stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Collins swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Buddy throws and elbow that misses. Collins uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Buddy's guard. Nice move by Collins!
Robert Buddy is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Collins working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Collins has gone for a leg lock! Buddy slips out almost immediately though and dives into Collins's guard.
