Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Danial Casida (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Samual Powers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Powers has chosen Saved by the Bell as his entrance music. Samual Powers has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

8 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Samual Powers! The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Steve Montenegro and Russell Pearce.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Powers shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Casida is trying to defend but Powers finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Casida is looking to improve his position.
Powers tries to pass to full mount but Casida defends it. Casida knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Powers on the ground. Powers is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Casida is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Powers is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
That's one minute gone in the round. Casida trying to control from the bottom.
Powers stalling. Powers trying to control from half guard but Casida is working away. Casida is trying to get back to full guard. Powers is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Casida has managed to free his arm - good work. Casida desperately trying to maintain half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Powers is trying to work for a kimura. That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Powers slows the pace down in half guard. Casida is looking for a sweep. Powers is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position. The referee calls for the fighters to work.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Powers throws a head kick that half lands.
Powers looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Powers throws a head kick that Casida semi-blocks.
Casida looks to score with a jab to the body but Powers is just out of range. Powers closes this distance looking for a takedown but Casida circles away. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Samual Powers dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Casida bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Powers's head. Powers misses with a head kick.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Samual Powers. Powers shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Casida napping and manages to drive through into side control! Powers tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Powers has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought! Casida is looking to reverse the position. Casida can't do much from the bottom here. A lull in the action here. Casida is trying to control Powers's posture but Powers avoids it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Powers wants to control but Casida is keeping him busy. Powers is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position. Casida is trying to improve his position. Casida can't do much from the bottom here. Powers just content to control the position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Casida tries to improve position but can't. If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up. Powers closes the distance and clinches up with Casida, looking for a takedown. Powers pushes Casida against the cage but Casida circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Casida jabs Powers to the body, keeping him at a distance. Casida thows a body shot but no joy. Casida thows a left - swing and a miss! A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Powers. Powers shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Casida is trying to defend but Powers finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Casida keeping control of the position. Casida wants to get back to full guard. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Samual Powers showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!
Casida changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Casida sizes up Powers with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Casida throws a right hand that Powers ducks under and follows up with a left that Powers also avoids with ease. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Casida, as that shot connected.
Casida has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Powers. Casida punishes Powers's body with a nice straight punch. Casida checks the leg kick. Casida displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Powers. Powers uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Casida.
Powers shoots in and drives through. Casida sprawls well. Powers shoots in but Casida avoids the takedown attempt easily. Danial Casida has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Samual Powers. Powers looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Excellent takedown into side control there by Powers. Powers working away.

Powers wants to control but Casida is keeping him busy. Powers is looking to advance position but Casida won't allow it. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Danial Casida has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Samual Powers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Powers trying to control the pace.
Samual Powers has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. Casida fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Powers manages to avoid it. Casida bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control. Casida with the ground and pound but Powers regains half guard under the barage of strikes. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Powers has his hands clasped together around Casida's back. He's all about the action. Casida is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Powers! Powers tries to hold on but Casida pushes him away. Samual Powers has got the better of the ground game so far. Casida looking to control but Powers is working nicely, looking to advance position himself. Powers tries to lock up and control but Casida gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Powers is working to get back to half guard.
Casida lands a nice shot to the head. Powers is squirming around, avoiding Casida's attempts to control the action. Powers is writhing around trying to get back to his feet. Powers avoids a series of strikes thrown by Casida.
Powers is in all sorts of trouble here.
Casida will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions. Casida raining down shots from the mount! The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Casida cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Casida is in the full mount, landing strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Powers working to try and regain half guard.
Casida lands a heavy elbow. Powers takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired. The crowd are loving this. Great action here. Casida wants to control the pace but Powers is squirming around nicely. Casida pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage. Casida lands with some vicious ground and pound - can Powers hang on? Powers tries to lock up and control but Casida gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Casida looking to ground and pound but Powers is blocking nicely. Casida breaks from Powers's wrist control and lands an elbow. Casida postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Powers looks a forlorn figure.
Casida throwing strikes but Powers recovers to half guard. A much better position.
And that's the end of the fight! Danial Casida showed his dominance in that final round. I think Powers has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
