Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chingis Xan! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksei Belov! The judges for this bout are Viktor Lagutenko, Fedor Mirinova and Dmitry Maklakov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! A big right from Xan misses. Xan getting the better of the striking in that exchange. Belov shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Xan is trying to defend but Belov finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further. Belov controlling the pace. Belov decides to return to a standing position. Xan fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Belov closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Belov fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Belov has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan. Xan being controlled for a moment.
That's one minute gone in the round. Xan dodges the ground and pound from Belov. Xan is trying to buck Belov off. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Belov creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Xan sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Xan prevents Belov from moving into mount. Xan knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Belov on the ground. A lull in the action here. Xan defending against the ground and pound. Belov controls the position from side control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup. Belov has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Xan! Xan is breathing heavily. Belov controlling from the full mount. Belov's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belov throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage. Belov looking to control and managing it successfully. Belov is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Xan has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Xan!
That's four minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Xan preventing the sweep. Belov has his foot on Xan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Xan works his way back into a safe position though. Belov manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Belov looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead. Belov looking to control and managing it successfully. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Belov is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Xan's half guard. Belov not landing any meaningful shots this time. Belov throwing shots but Xan is blocking nicely. Belov lands with a punch from half guard. Belov trying to control the action but Xan is working from the bottom. Belov is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Xan has managed to free his arm - good work. Belov slows the pace down in half guard. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Belov throws a sloppy head kick and Xan moves out of range easily. Chingis Xan is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Xan throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle. Belov tries to clinch up but Xan circles away and keeps his distance. Belov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Xan pinned against the cage. Xan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Belov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Xan paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena. Belov tries to clinch up but Xan circles away and keeps his distance. The fighters circling - Xan throws out the jab but it was never going to land. Belov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Xan paws at him with a jab and circles away. Xan displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Belov. Belov keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Xan. Xan misses with a body kick. Belov tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Xan paws at him with a jab and circles away. Xan moves out of range as Belov throws a body kick.
Xan blocks a jab. Belov wants to clinch. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Belov is defended easily by Xan. Chingis Xan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aleksei Belov.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Belov misses with a wild body shot. Belov thows a body shot but no joy. Belov uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Xan. Chingis Xan is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Belov throws an overhand right that lands on Xan's shoulder, as Xan tries to avoid the shot. Belov fails with the takedown. Xan circles away from the clinch attempt.
Xan scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Chingis Xan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Belov scores a takedown into full mount! Xan wants to get back to his feet.
Belov controlling the pace for now.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Belov with a couple of short strikes. Belov is standing up, even though he is in mount. Belov tries to clinch up. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Aleksei Belov showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!
Horrible takedown by Belov or perhaps it was just good defense by Xan which made him look bad. Belov doesn't manage to clinch there - Xan circles away.

Xan misses with a hook. Belov tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Xan swivels and escapes. Chingis Xan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Aleksei Belov. Xan keeps the fight on the outside. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Xan misses with a looping left. Belov shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Xan pinned against the cage. Xan gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. Belov shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Xan but Xan pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. Belov takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
Belov fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Xan avoids it really well and circles away. Belov throws a push kick but Xan slaps the foot to one side. Xan misses with a few strikes there.
Belov uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Xan. Xan keeps the fight on the outside. Xan tries to sprawl but Belov drives through with a takedown into half guard. Belov keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Xan tries to kick Belov off but Belov keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Belov decides to stand and escape the position. Belov shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Xan as he avoids it easily. Xan gets taken down but at least he's managed to land in guard. Xan is working an open guard so Belov takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Belov closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard. This has been an exciting period of action! Belov in half guard on the top. He's looking for a kimura... He's got it locked and he's managed to free his trapped foot. Xan tries to escape but it's on too tight and he has to tap! Great BJJ skills there from Belov!
