Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Kenneth Arnold (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Astrud Rivera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Arnold comes to the cage accompanied by Flying Purple People Eaters. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Kenneth Arnold! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Astrud Rivera! The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and .
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! No joy there for Arnold, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Arnold wants to land a leg kick but Rivera is out of range. Arnold changes levels and scores with a jab to the body. Arnold looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Rivera avoids the head kick by Arnold.
Rivera shoots in looking for a takedown. Arnold tries to sprawl out of it but Rivera keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Arnold manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Good standup being displayed there by Arnold as he connects with a hook. Rivera fails with an attempt to clinch.
Arnold comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range. Rivera throws a sloppy body shot
and Arnold counters with a straight right hand. A leg kick checked by Rivera. Rivera tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Rivera ducks right into an uppercut from Arnold. Rivera takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Arnold fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Rivera checks it well. A left and a right from Arnold both land. Nice combination. Some wild striking there from Arnold.
Arnold tries to clinch but Rivera moves away and Rivera counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Rivera.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rivera's corner is telling him to maintain position. Rivera trying to control the position from guard on top but Arnold is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Rivera trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. Rivera slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet. Rivera's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
That's two minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Astrud Rivera. Rivera tries to clinch up. Arnold uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rivera has time to react. Rivera has a takedown stuffed. Rivera fails to land the takedown. Kenneth Arnold has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Astrud Rivera. Good leg kick by Arnold there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Arnold scores with a decent looking hook. Rivera takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness. Rivera closes the distance but Arnold moves to the side and Arnold counters with a good low kick that Rivera was not able to check. Arnold takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. Rivera instigates a clinch. Rivera tries to pull guard but Arnold won't allow it.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arnold is trying to break the clinch but Rivera is controlling him. Arnold is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage. Rivera manages to pull guard.
Arnold stopping the sweep attempt from Rivera. Rivera looks gassed! Rivera pushes Arnold off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there. Rivera closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth. Arnold knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rivera on the ground. Arnold stops Rivera from passing to mount.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The referee tells the fighters to keep busy. You can see the frustration on Arnold's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Astrud Rivera dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Arnold lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. A lazy body kick from Rivera enabling Arnold to counter with a crisp jab. Rivera tries to move into range but Arnold moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand. Rivera tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Arnold paws at him with a jab and circles away. Rivera lands with a slapping head kick. Arnold defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Rivera. Arnold lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Arnold connects with a body shot. Arnold clobbers Rivera with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise. Arnold uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Rivera has time to react. Rivera throws a push kick but Arnold slaps the foot to one side. Both fighters circling a little - Arnold finishes the exchange with a kick to the body. Rivera takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
Arnold with a poor takedown and Rivera moves into the clinch. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Rivera tries to break free but Arnold pushes him back against the cage.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rivera pulls guard successfully.
Arnold trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Arnold looking to sit in guard and control but Rivera gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Rivera seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Rivera won't allow Arnold to sweep him here.
That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. Rivera wants to pass the guard but Arnold is keeping the position. Rivera thows a big elbow that misses. Rivera is looking to work some ground and pound but Arnold has wrist control. Rivera scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Arnold being controlled here, momentarily. Rivera missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Rivera is stalling in the full guard. Arnold looking to control.
That's four minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
The referee decides to stand the fighters back up. Rivera shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Arnold as he avoids it easily. Rivera tries to clinch there but Arnold circles away.
Rivera fails miserably with a takedown attempt. Kenneth Arnold has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Astrud Rivera. Rivera fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Arnold scores with a slapping inside leg kick. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. A nice combination there by Arnold.
Rivera takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming. Rivera dodges the punch combination from Arnold.
Rivera takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close second round but Astrud Rivera will probably get the nod - 10:9. Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin! This is the final round!
Arnold takes a kick to the side of the head. Rivera wants to clinch up but Arnold keeps it at a distance. No luck with that takedown attempt from Arnold. Rivera shoots in and drives through. Arnold sprawls well. Horrible takedown by Rivera or perhaps it was just good defense by Arnold which made him look bad. A nice inside leg kick there by Arnold. That's going to slow Rivera down. Arnold misses with a series of wild punches.
Arnold throws a good cross that connects.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Arnold wants to slow Rivera down by chopping away at his legs. Both fighters are breathing heavily. Arnold lunges at Rivera with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Rivera's hand. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Arnold, as that shot connected.
Rivera shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Arnold sprawls well. Arnold wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Rivera gets slowly back to his feet. Kenneth Arnold has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Astrud Rivera.
That's one minute gone in the round. Rivera fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Kenneth Arnold is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Arnold ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Kenneth Arnold seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Arnold tried to score with a low kick but Rivera checks it. Arnold throws a head kick but Rivera moves out of range.
Arnold's corner calls for a 1,2 combination and Arnold duly obliges. Arnold lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Arnold cracks a nice hook into Rivera's ribs. A nice leg kick lands there from Arnold. Rivera misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Rivera takes one to the side of the head.
Arnold lands a head kick!
Arnold throws a lazy head kick so Rivera counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Rivera postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Rivera trying to control the position from guard on top but Arnold is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Arnold trying to control the position.
Rivera wants to control from the top but Arnold keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Rivera gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent. A slapping leg kick lands for Arnold.
Rivera misses with a two punch combination.
Rivera gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there. Rivera has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye. Arnold lands a jab to Rivera's midsection. Rivera moves in looking to clinch but Arnold pushes him off. Rivera doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body. Arnold sizes up Rivera with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle. Rivera tries to score a power double leg takedown but Arnold sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Rivera somewhat. Arnold lands a nice hook to Rivera's body. Rivera takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Rivera feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position. Rivera looking to sit in guard and control but Arnold gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. Arnold seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up. Kenneth Arnold has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Astrud Rivera is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach. Rivera bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Arnold's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! Astrud Rivera comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Rivera winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
