Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jake Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and john johnson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Hunter might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The DOC vs Earshot. This should be a great matchup!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
9 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jake Hunter! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
8 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, john johnson! The judges for this bout are John Roberts, Franklyn Lucas and Steve Montenegro.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! johnson tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Hunter swivels and escapes. johnson fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hunter avoids it really well and circles away. johnson tries to clinch up. johnson shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Hunter but Hunter pushes him off and we're back to square one. Jake Hunter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of john johnson. johnson wants to clinch. johnson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Hunter as he jumps to the side. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Hunter defends well against a solid takedown attempt from johnson. johnson fails with a takedown attempt.
That's one minute gone in the round. johnson shoots in for a takedown but Hunter shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet. johnson will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. johnson shoots for a takedown but Hunter saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily. johnson drives through with a takedown into guard. johnson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. Hunter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. johnson sitting in guard here, content to control. Hunter looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hunter tries to land a sweep but no joy. johnson tries to stand but Hunter is controlling from the bottom. We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon. Hunter looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Hunter has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but johnson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself. johnson sitting in guard, not really doing much. johnson wants to control from the top but Hunter keeps moving.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. johnson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. johnson trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat. johnson looking to sit in guard and control but Hunter gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Hunter postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! johnson is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Hunter, into his guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round. johnson is stalling in the full guard. johnson wants to control from the top but Hunter keeps moving. johnson in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Jake Hunter will probably get the nod. That's time! Hunter's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.
johnson dives in and grabs Hunter's left leg, looking for a takedown. Hunter pushes down on johnson's head and hops out. johnson closes the distance and clinches up with Hunter, looking for a takedown. johnson pushes Hunter against the cage but Hunter circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. johnson is trying hard to land a takedown here. Hunter sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Jake Hunter has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of john johnson. johnson fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. johnson is looking to clinch but Hunter is avoiding it.
Nice takedown defense from Hunter. No joy for johnson on that attempt. No joy there for johnson, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

"I don't think so" says Hunter as he avoids it easily. johnson tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Hunter displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from johnson. Hunter gets a takedown into half guard.
That's one minute gone in the round. Hunter is working for a kimura here but johnson manages to reverse the position and he's now in Hunter's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round. A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace. Hunter is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and johnson defends well. johnson stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Hunter swivels though and keeps the full guard. johnson controls from within his opponent's guard. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
The ref stands the fighters back up. john johnson was stalling too much, according to the referee. johnson gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily and Hunter counters with a one-two to the body. johnson with a lazy takedown attempt and Hunter counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hunter is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Hunter wants to take a breather but johnson is having none of it. johnson looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Jake Hunter dominated that second round. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! And we move into the final round!
johnson looks to clinch and Hunter decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in johnson's guard. Hunter drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and johnson dives on top into guard. johnson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions. johnson trying to control the position from guard on top but Hunter is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. johnson is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully. Hunter utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound. Hunter keeping moving, preventing johnson from controlling successfully. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's one minute gone in the round. The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace. johnson slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
The ref calls for a clean break and stands the fighters back up. john johnson wasn't active enough on the ground. johnson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. johnson showed some decent athleticism there. johnson keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action. Hunter tries to roll over but johnson keeps him under control.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Hunter looking to work for a kimura from the bottom. johnson stands up from half guard. johnson with a lazy takedown attempt and Hunter counters with a nice double leg into guard. johnson seems keen to control Hunter's posture. Hunter looking to pass the guard.

Both fighters are breathing heavily. johnson is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action. johnson pushing down on Hunter's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work. Well, if johnson is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

john johnson has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet. johnson shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Hunter's guard.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to john johnson. Well Hunter has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
