The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Christoski shoots in for a double leg but Hulmurinta sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

and Christoski decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hulmurinta's guard.

Christoski has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hulmurinta can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Christoski isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Hulmurinta stacks Christoski on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Hulmurinta!

Hulmurinta is nestled in close to Christoski, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

Christoski postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Hulmurinta to stand up.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Christoski closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Christoski has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Hulmurinta has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Christoski seems to be going for a rear naked choke. He has an arm under Hulmurinta's chin but Hulmurinta turns very nicely into Christoski's guard. Good BJJ skills being displayed there by Hulmurinta.

Christoski has instead reached around Hulmurinta's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Christoski arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
