A fine choice. The key to victory for tim sanderson has got to be keeping the fight on the feet.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bob tries to clinch up.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

sanderson has Bob pressed up against the ropes and is working for takedown. Bob manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Bob is looking to break free of the clinch but sanderson has double underhooks.
Bob wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but sanderson has him pressed against the ropes.
sanderson misses with a knee to the head.

Bob is trying to work for a single leg takedown but sanderson pulls him back up using the underhooks.

sanderson using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Bob has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

sanderson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Bob rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but sanderson moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bob misses with a few strikes there.

sanderson moves into the clinch.
sanderson looking to throw knees to the head but Bob is blocking nicely.

sanderson breaks the clinch.
The fight stays on the outside here - sanderson looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Jim Bob seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bob throws a lazy head kick
and sanderson counters with a kick to the head that grazes his opponent. Bob is lucky that one didn't land flush.

That has opened up Jim Bob's cut even more.
Bob throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and sanderson counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
sanderson shoots in looking for a takedown. Bob tries to sprawl out of it but sanderson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the ropes. Bob manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

and sanderson counters with a one-two to the body.
sanderson blocks a head kick by Bob.
sanderson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the ropes but Bob paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Bob misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
sanderson misses with a takedown attempt - Bob sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for tim sanderson. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!

Jim Bob's cut is absolute horrible now. This looks like something out of a horror film with blood covering both fighters.
