Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Kenshi Zuko (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nathan Scott (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Zuko might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to The Writ. Scott has chosen Down as his entrance music. Nathan Scott is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Kenshi Zuko! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
12 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Nathan Scott! The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Gregory Folan and Alec Ball.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Scott checks the leg kick. Zuko drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard. Scott tries to land a sweep but no joy. Scott trying to control the position.
Scott is looking to sweep but instead, Zuko has passed into half guard.
Zuko wants to work for an arm triangle but Scott is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Zuko thows a huge punch but Scott dodges it nicely.
Zuko prevents Scott from improving his position. Scott is persisting with the attempt to improve his position. Zuko wants to free his trapped foot but Scott is holding on for dear life with his legs. Scott is looking to improve his position.
That's one minute gone in the round. Zuko is trying to work for a kimura but Scott is defending well.
Zuko drops an elbow to the side of Scott's head. Scott moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard. Scott is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Scott can do anything to dispel that myth. Zuko postures up and lands some nice ground and pound. Zuko trying to control the position from guard on top but Scott is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Scott looking for a guillotine here but Zuko defends easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. Scott looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Zuko wants to control from the top but Scott keeps moving. Zuko got a little sloppy there for a moment and Scott has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Zuko has managed to get both his arms back between Scott's legs - danger averted. Scott looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Scott looks gassed! Zuko chips away with some ground and pound. Zuko cracks Scott with a solid left hand. Zuko content to stall in guard here. Zuko throwing strikes from guard but Scott blocks nicely. Scott wants to sweep but no luck.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Scott isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Zuko stacks Scott on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Zuko! Scott trying to control but Zuko flips him over like a cheap hooker and has his back! Zuko looking to soften up his opponent with punches.
Zuko is working for the rear naked choke. He has one arm under the chin but Scott has hold of the other arm. A bit of a stalemate here. Zuko looking for the choke but no joy. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Zuko has Scott flattened out and is raining down punches. Zuko lands strikes to the head.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Zuko softening up his opponent with strikes here.
Zuko lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Scott.
Zuko punches Scott on the ear. I really don't envy Scott right now.
Zuko is landing with strikes from the back. Scott is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Zuko gets his way!
Zuko lands with a nice looking elbow that stuns Scott.
Scott covers up after that shot from Zuko.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Zuko is looking for the choke from the back position but Scott is controlling his hands well. Scott defending nicely against the rear naked choke attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Kenshi Zuko dominated that round. The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.
A jab lands there for Zuko. Scott tries for a takedown but Zuko circles away easily and Zuko counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head. Scott with a poor takedown and Zuko counters with a nice uppercut. Scott shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Zuko's guard. Zuko trying to keep a closed guard but Scott is proving a slippery customer.
Scott wants to stand up, so he's looking to wriggle free of Zuko's closed guard. He's half up but Zuko has locked on to an arm! Uh oh! Zuko pivots and extends the arm, Scott falls face first to the mat and taps??... does he?? YES! He's tapping! Excellent counter grappling there by Zuko! Well done that man!
