The judges for this bout are Tiny Johnson, Stewart Dunkirk and Cecil Peabody.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Meningitis fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Meningitis blocks a jab.
Soszynski throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Meningitis tries to land a front kick but Soszynski steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Meningitis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Soszynski.
No luck for Meningitis with that takedown attempt.
Meningitis attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Meningitis fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Tuberculo Meningitis. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Meningitis takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Meningitis on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Meningitis changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Soszynski tries to avoid it but Meningitis manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Soszynski to the ground. Soszynski escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Meningitis misses with a takedown attempt - Soszynski sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Tuberculo Meningitis seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Soszynski has closed the distance and engaged Meningitis in a clinch.

Soszynski escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Soszynski looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Meningitis shoots in for a double leg but Soszynski sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Soszynski throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Soszynski darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Meningitis is breathing heavily.
Soszynski moves into full mount! Meningitis won't be happy about that!

and Soszynski counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Soszynski wants to stand up but Meningitis is controlling the position.
Meningitis is looking for a sweep. Soszynski is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Soszynski seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Meningitis gets back to full guard.

Meningitis had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Soszynski is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Meningitis Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Soszynski's back instead.

Meningitis working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
Meningitis will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Soszynski won't enjoy being in this position. Meningitis looking for the choke. Oh... he's slipped the arm under the neck - Soszynski is tapping - it's over boys! Meningitis picks up the submission victory!
