The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sagat throws a head kick that half lands.

It looks like Gunnar Erikson has been cut.
Sagat misses with a head kick.
Sagat wants to clinch up but Erikson keeps it at a distance.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
A head kick misses from Sagat.
Sagat slips a straight right by Erikson.
Erikson connects with a single shot there.

It looks like Bob Sagat has been cut.
Erikson swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Sagat.
Sagat wants to clinch.
Sagat throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Sagat doesn't manage to clinch there - Erikson circles away.
Sagat tries to close the distance and clinch up but Erikson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Erikson is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Sagat moves in looking to clinch but Erikson pushes him off.
Sagat tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in the close the distance. Erikson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Erikson digs a good hook to Sagat's body.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Sagat takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Erikson scores with a jab to the jaw.
Erikson ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Sagat is breathing heavily.
Erikson throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
