The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grande drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Grande postures up in Bakreek's guard and throws a big left but Bakreek blocks it.
Grande trying to control but Bakreek is working from the bottom.
Grande advances to half guard.
Grande has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Grande thows a huge punch but Bakreek dodges it nicely.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Bakreek can do anything to dispel that myth.

Bakreek tries to get to full guard but Grande has control of the leg.
Grande is looking to advance position but Bakreek won't allow it.
Bakreek is trying to stand up here but Grande is controlling him well.
Grande seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Bakreek does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Bakreek is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Grande is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Bakreek can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Bakreek is flailing around, obviously not happy about being mounted. Grande locks hold of one of his arms and spins for an armbar. He's got it! Bakreek is forced to tap!
