Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Penl (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Willy Sanchez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jason Penl! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Willy Sanchez! The judges for this bout are Eliza Hachem, Summer Carpenter and John Mangel.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Penl misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Sanchez fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Penl. Sanchez stuffs the takedown. Sloppy strikes from Penl. Those never looked like landing. Sanchez throws a quick inside leg kick. Sanchez lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh. Penl shoots in for a double leg but Sanchez sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy. Penl fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jason Penl. That's going to take a lot out of him. Penl dodges the punch combination from Sanchez.
Sanchez bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut. Sanchez fakes a jab and scores with a low kick. Sanchez lands with a thumping leg kick.
Penl is breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Penl misses with a takedown attempt - Sanchez sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Penl takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Penl fails with the takedown. Sanchez moves away from the strike by Penl. Sanchez fails with the takedown and Penl counters with a shoot takedown into half guard. Sanchez actively working from the bottom here. Sanchez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Penl pulls his head out easily. Sanchez looking to force a kimura from the bottom here. He's concentrating on that move too much though and Penl pushes past his half guard into mount!
That's two minutes gone in the round. Sanchez regains half guard. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. Sanchez actively working from the bottom here. Penl is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Sanchez doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Penl. Sanchez won't allow Penl to pass to mount. Penl thows a huge punch but Sanchez dodges it nicely.
Sanchez blocking the ground and pound attempt from Penl. Penl is taking a breather. Sanchez says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something. Sanchez looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Sanchez has hold of Penl's hands but Penl slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow. Penl is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Sanchez sees it coming and defends easily. Penl is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there. Penl is trying to control the action in half guard but Sanchez is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard. Penl is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Sanchez looking for submissions from an awkward position here. Penl seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Sanchez does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back. Penl working the head and body with strikes.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Sanchez is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Penl pulls his head out easily. Penl is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Sanchez defends it well. Sanchez is refusing to be controlled, as Penl sits in half guard. Sanchez looking for submissions off his back. Penl wants to pass the guard but Sanchez is defending well. Penl seems to be working for a kimura but Sanchez defends the submission attempt. The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end. Ground and pound from Penl. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Willy Sanchez dominated that round. That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.
Sanchez fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Penl is out of range. Willy Sanchez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Penl misses with a takedown and Penl takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles. Penl doesn't succeed with the takedown and Sanchez counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground. Both fighters really going for it on the ground here! Sanchez drops back looking for a submission - "I'm sorry sir, but I'm gunna break your leg" says Sanchez as he cranks on the unfortunate limb! Penl screams and taps out before any major damage is done! Don't mess with Sanchez! Nice submission victory there!
