Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
11 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Jamal Hudak! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Howland Reed! The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, Dean Styles and Chad Campbell.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Reed misses the shot to the body. Hudak goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Reed stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Reed wants it to stay on the feet. Hudak looks to land a body kick but Reed moved away. Hudak fails with the takedown. Nice shot by Reed. Hudak throws a push kick but Reed slaps the foot to one side. Reed throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

That's one minute gone in the round. Hudak looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. A left lands for Reed. Hudak on the wrong end of a nice jab. Reed dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Reed takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Hudak misses with a body kick. Hudak ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face. Reed throws a jab when Hudak was well out of range. Hudak looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it. Howland Reed is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs. Reed fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Hudak is out of range. Hudak fails with a takedown attempt. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamal Hudak. That's going to take a lot out of him. A looping hook to the body misses from Reed. Hudak does a little dance to reset his feet.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reed scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Reed misses with an uppercut. Hudak throws a low kick but it's checked well by Reed. Hudak tries for a takedown but Reed sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Reed misses with a looping left. Hudak avoids a punch combination nicely.
A big left from Reed misses. Hudak goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Hudak shoots for a double leg takedown but Reed sprawls well. He's pushed Hudak's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily. Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Hudak. Reed avoids a low kick by using good footwork.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Reed gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Hudak to score an easy takedown into full guard. Hudak trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Reed is controlling Hudak's posture. Hudak drops back looking for a leg! Reed is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Reed manages to kick Hudak off! Hudak jumps back into Reed's guard. Reed has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall. Reed really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hudak. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Hudak trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet. Reed has control of Hudak's left arm, preventing Hudak from doing any damage. Hudak looking to pass the guard. Hudak is fighting to break Reed's control of his arms but Reed is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Howland Reed dominated that round. The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!
Hudak throws a half hearted mid kick. Reed misses with a wild body shot. Reed takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Reed connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head. Reed leaves Hudak with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt. Reed throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Reed lands a head shot. A solid leg kick lands there for Hudak.
Hudak bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick. Reed lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hudak circles away quickly and effectively.
That's one minute gone in the round. Reed looks to score with a jab to the body but Hudak is just out of range. Hudak looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple. Hudak moves out of range as Reed strikes. Hudak throws a body kick but he wasn't in range. Reed tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Hudak is able to avoid easily. Reed throws a body punch but Hudak moves out of range. Reed dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Reed tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hudak paws at him with a jab and circles away. Reed waving his hands out in front of him, looking to distract Hudak. Hudak looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Reed throws the left hand but Hudak avoids the punch easily. Hudak shoots in looking for a takedown. Reed tries to sprawl out of it but Hudak keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Reed manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Reed takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards. Hudak shoots in and gets a takedown into Reed's guard. Hudak missing there with some ground and pound from the guard. Hudak trying to control the position from guard on top but Reed is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Reed is adopting a defensive guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hudak passes Reed's left leg - he's now in half guard. Reed is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Hudak's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Hudak's back! The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Hudak trying to control the hands but Reed won't let him.
That's four minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer. Reed is looking to control Hudak but Hudak is wriggling around and keeping busy. Reed not allowing Hudak to control his hands. Howland Reed showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!

Reed fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Hudak manages to avoid it. Hudak goes for a spinning back kick but it misses. Reed cracks Hudak with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business. Reed lands with a good body shot. Hudak misses with a low kick.
Jamal Hudak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Hudak tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Reed swivels and escapes. Hudak tries to land a front kick but Reed steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Hudak shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Reed as he avoids it easily. Hudak misses with a low kick.

Hudak checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time. Reed lands with a shot to the body. A shot to the liver by Reed. Beautiful body shot. Hudak dives in and grabs Reed's left leg, looking for a takedown. Reed pushes down on Hudak's head and hops out. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jamal Hudak. That's going to take a lot out of him. Reed throws a body punch but Hudak moves out of range. Nice uppercut there from Reed. Hudak ducks under a wild hook from Reed. Reed misses with a low kick.
Reed gets off balance looking for a body kick and Hudak counters with a shoot takedown. Reed fights it but they end up in guard. Reed trying to keep a closed guard but Hudak is proving a slippery customer.

That's two minutes gone in the round. Reed keeping moving, preventing Hudak from controlling successfully. Hudak slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up. Hudak stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Reed swivels though and keeps the full guard.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Hudak content to stall in guard here.
Jamal Hudak has forced the referee to step in and bring the fight back to the feet. A shot to the liver by Reed. Beautiful body shot. Donk. Reed catches Hudak right on the button with a cross. Reed throws a leg kick but Hudak sees it coming and checks it nicely. Reed connects with the punch. Jamal Hudak has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here! Hudak has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Hudak there as he acknowledges the shot. Reed throws a right hand that Hudak ducks under and follows up with a left that Hudak also avoids with ease. Hudak slips a straight right by Reed. Reed misses with a series of wild punches.
Reed misses with a hook. Hudak ducked under it nicely.
That's four minutes gone in the round. Reed misses with a two punch combination.
Hudak looks for the body kick but Reed saw that one coming. Hudak misses with an attempted mid kick.
Reed tries to clinch but Hudak moves out of range. Hudak is looking to land body kicks. Hudak scores with a kick to the midsection. A jab from Hudak misses. Reed jabbing away but nothing is landing. Reed ducks down and throws a hook to the body. Hudak throws a chopping leg kick but Reed manages to avoid taking any serious damage.
And that's the end of the fight! Howland Reed comfortably won the final round on my scorecard. I've got Reed winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
