Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Terry Kilmartin (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Law (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Terry Kilmartin has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Terry Kilmartin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Aaron Law!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Chris Downing and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Law rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Kilmartin moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Nice takedown defense from Law. No joy for Kilmartin on that attempt.

Kilmartin tries to keep at a distance but Law has taken the fight into the clinch.

Law breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Kilmartin closes the distance looking to clinch
letting Law counter with a right hand.
Law throws a low kick but Kilmartin avoids it.
Kilmartin wants to clinch but Law slips to the side
and Kilmartin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
The fighters circling - Law throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Kilmartin clinches but Law breaks the clinch

and Law counters by moving into the clinch.
Kilmartin tries to break free but Law pushes him back against the ropes.
Law is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the ropes.
Kilmartin drops down looking for an ankle pick but Law pulls his leg out and moves away.

Law rushes Kilmartin and pushes him back against the ropes in a clinch.

Kilmartin is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the ropes.
Law has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Law tries to break free but Kilmartin pushes him back against the ropes.
Kilmartin stalling in the clinch but Law improves position.

Law decides to pull guard.
Kilmartin is looking to stand up but Law won't let him.
Law trying to keep a closed guard but Kilmartin is proving a slippery customer.
Law keeping moving, preventing Kilmartin from controlling successfully.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Law is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Law controls Kilmartin momentarily but Kilmartin frees himself.
Law has a closed guard, preventing Kilmartin from standing up.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Law shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Kilmartin sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.
Law looks to land a strike but Kilmartin avoids it nicely and regains full guard.
Law trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Law wants to control from the top but Kilmartin keeps moving.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Law dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Kilmartin takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Law lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Kilmartin circles away quickly and effectively.
Law doesn't manage to clinch there - Kilmartin circles away.
Law misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Kilmartin fails in his attempt to clinch.
Law lands a leg kick and bounces back out of range.

and Law counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Kilmartin's guard now.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Kilmartin keeping full guard, as Law tries to pass.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Law is looking to stand up but Kilmartin won't let him.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Kilmartin is on top in guard.

Law throws his legs up looking for a submission but Kilmartin uses it to pass to side control.
Kilmartin is looking to take a break and control but Law is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Law is trying to buck Kilmartin off.
Kilmartin is staying tight to Law's torso, preventing him from escaping.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Law sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
Law is looking to improve his position.
Kilmartin trying to control from half guard but Law is working away.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Law is looking to control Kilmartin's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Law avoid being mounted?
Law is staying active underneath Kilmartin, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Law showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Kilmartin clinches but Law breaks the clinch

and Law moves into the clinch.
Kilmartin throws a knee to the head but misses.
Kilmartin has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Law is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.
Kilmartin goes for a takedown in the clinch but Law prevents it.
Law wants to break the clinch but can't.
Law dodges an elbow strike from Kilmartin.
Kilmartin is looking to break free of the clinch but Law has double underhooks.
Law tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Kilmartin just stands there and leans against the ropes.
Kilmartin tries to land knees in the clinch but Law avoids the damage to the body.

Law breaks the clinch.
Law dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Kilmartin. That did some damage!
Kilmartin avoids a kick to the body.
Kilmartin tries to clinch up
and Kilmartin takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.

Law misses with the combination.
Kilmartin tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Law counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Law.
Kilmartin tries to circle away but Law has him pinned against the ropes.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Law as Kilmartin tries to tie him up.
Law tries to break the clinch but Kilmartin is controlling the position.
Kilmartin creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Law's defenses.

Law jumps guard and drags Kilmartin to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Law is trying to keep Kilmartin in close.
Kilmartin trying to control the position from guard on top but Law is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Law is on top in guard.
Kilmartin controls Law momentarily but Law frees himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Law must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Law looking to pass the guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Law is looking to stand up but Kilmartin won't let him.
Terry Kilmartin has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Aaron Law is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Law gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Kilmartin tries to clinch up

and Law counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Law.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Kilmartin ties up his opponent against the ropes and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Kilmartin no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Aaron Law comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Law has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
