Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Daaz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Flash McPuggins (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Daaz comes to the cage accompanied by Meshuggah - Mind's Mirror. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
18 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Daaz! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Flash McPuggins! The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Matheus Silva and Daniel Cesar.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! McPuggins defending well as Daaz loads up on a big left hand. McPuggins looks to clinch and Daaz counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body. A looping hook to the body misses from McPuggins. Daaz does a little dance to reset his feet. McPuggins takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch. McPuggins tries to clinch and Daaz counters with a left and a right that stings McPuggins. A shot to the liver by Daaz. Beautiful body shot. Daaz misses with a straight left. McPuggins closes the distance looking to clinch and Daaz cracks him with a counter punch right on the button. Daaz dips down and scores with a jab to the body. Daaz lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin. A slow jab from Daaz misses its intended target. Daaz fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done. Daaz thuds a left hand into McPuggins's body. McPuggins throws the kick towards the body but Daaz avoids it. Daaz scores with a nice right hand.
McPuggins closes the distance looking to clinch and Daaz counters with a straight punch to the midsection. Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd. McPuggins wants to clinch letting Daaz counter with a right hand. McPuggins drives through and clinches with Daaz against the cage.
McPuggins misses with a knee strike.
That's one minute gone in the round. A head punch on the inside from Daaz fails to land. A head punch blocked on the inside by McPuggins. Daaz throws a punch but it's blocked by McPuggins. With the fighters clinched against the cage, Daaz creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut. McPuggins blocking some punches.
Daaz goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
Daaz takes a knee right on the jaw!
McPuggins using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Daaz has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.

McPuggins looks gassed! McPuggins blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Daaz tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage. Daaz lands with a short shot to the head. Daaz is leaning against McPuggins and scores with a nice uppercut to the body. A head punch on the inside from Daaz fails to land.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Daaz wants to break free but McPuggins has control.
McPuggins blocks an uppercut.
Daaz scores with an uppercut up the middle. Daaz drops McPuggins onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! McPuggins is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
McPuggins is rocked!
It looks like Flash McPuggins has been cut. Daaz dips a shoulder and cracks McPuggins with a mighty uppercut! McPuggins falls back against the cage and Daaz unloads with a barrage of strikes! McPuggins is completely out with his eyes open, only supported by the cage! Save him ref! Eventually the ref decides to do his job and jumps in - Daaz screams abuse at the incompetent official before going over to celebrate with his corner. Brutal stuff!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:21 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Nick Daaz!
