Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Kevin Walters! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Pedro Cruz! The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Stewart Dunkirk and Chris Downing.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Cruz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Walters swivels and escapes. Cruz scores with a takedown into Walters's guard. Cruz drops back looking for a leg! Walters is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Walters manages to kick Cruz off! Cruz jumps back into Walters's guard. Cruz lands a couple of digs. Cruz trying to control but Walters is working from the bottom. Cruz slips effortlessly into side control - very nice. Cruz thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead. Walters tries to get back to half guard but can't. Walters knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Cruz on the ground.

That's two minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. You can see the frustration on Walters's face, being in this tough position on the bottom. Cruz is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Walters has escaped the position, nice work there. Cruz in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time. Walters is positioning himself to get back to half guard. The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult. The ground and pound from Cruz seems to be hitting the mat more than his opponent.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Cruz is trying to get an arm triangle but Walters is defending well. Walters is not in a great position here, taking some shots. Cruz postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Cruz sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Walters is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Cruz tries for a kimura but Walters is defending well. Cruz looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything. Walters on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Walters tries to get out of the position. Cruz fails to land a wild elbow strike.
Walters is looking to reverse the position. Cruz is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Walters knows the correct defense though, so he's OK. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Pedro Cruz dominated that round. OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Cruz walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush. Pedro Cruz seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Walters connects with a looping right hand.
Walters defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Cruz. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cruz. Cruz misses with a takedown attempt - Walters sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. Kevin Walters has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Pedro Cruz. Cruz moves in looking to clinch but Walters pushes him off. A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Cruz. Walters throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Cruz stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly. Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Walters, as that shot connected.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so! Walters lands a big right hand that sends Cruz crashing to the mat! Walters stays standing though and waves Cruz back to his feet!
Cruz is rocked! Cruz is breathing heavily. Cruz leaves his chin hanging out and Walters seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Cruz crumbles to the floor in a heap, and the referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Kevin Walters!
