Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Dante Stack! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Easy Mac! The judges for this bout are Taro Takaoka, Tatsuya Matsuyama and Kenichi Hosakawa.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Mac lands three nice shots there - that looked like it hurt!
Stack will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Stack closes this distance looking for a takedown but Mac circles away. Mac lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Stack misses the shot to the body. Stack shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Mac pinned against the cage. Mac gets the underhooks and manages to circle away. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dante Stack. That's going to take a lot out of him. Stack is breathing heavily. Mac looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Mac connects with a nice looking jab.
Mac rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Stack moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Mac looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Stack! The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work. We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage! Mac tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Mac wants to stand but Stack is holding on to him, trying to stop him posturing up.
Stack is trying desperately to improve position. Mac takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
That's one minute gone in the round. Stack tries to hold on but Mac pushes him away. Stack tries to get back to half guard but can't. Stack tries to hold on but Mac pushes him away. Stack is in all sorts of trouble here.
Mac really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Stack. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Mac won't let Stack get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it. Stack working to try and regain half guard.
Mac blocks Stack's feeble attempts to strike from the bottom. Stack is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
Mac tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position. Stack tries to reverse the position but Mac maintains control. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing. Mac looking to control and managing it successfully.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Stack tries to reverse the position but Mac maintains control. Stack slips a leg in and gets back to half guard. It looks like Mac is going to stand back up.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless. The fighters are battling for position here. Stack manages to regain full guard. Nice work. Stack is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Stack wants to sweep here but Mac controlling him for the moment. Mac postures up.
Mac avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Stack is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Mac has his hands clasped together but Stack extends an breaks Mac's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Stack.
