Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Larry King!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, George Tribbett!
The judges for this bout are Alec Ball, Trevor Gratis and Gregory Folan.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
King clinches up with Tribbett and pushes him back against the cage.
King lands with a short shot to the head.
King breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
King lands a big head kick that sends Tribbett tumbling to the mat! King takes a step backwards and waves Tribbett back to his feet - he wants the finish!
Tribbett is rocked!
It looks like George Tribbett has been cut.
A looping hook to the body misses from Tribbett. King does a little dance to reset his feet.
Tribbett is still on wobbly legs! Can King finish him?
Tribbett fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but King avoids it really well and circles away.
Tribbett avoids the head kick by King.
Tribbett seems to have recovered his senses.
King clinches.
A knee to the head by King.
King jerks Tribbett's head down, straight into the path of a devastating knee! Tribbett drops to the floor in a crumpled heap! King goes to throw a finishing haymaker but pulls out - good sportsmanship from King because Tribbett was completely out of it. That was a nice finish - just the right level of brutality to send everyone home happy.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Knee). Larry King!
Larry King retains his welterweight title!
