Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Aronoff (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Kriz Naiz (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Aronoff comes to the cage accompanied by Here Comes the Pain by Slayer. Mark Aronoff has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Mark Aronoff!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Kriz Naiz!
The judges for this bout are Yuuki Gou, Kenichi Hosakawa and Yukihiro Yamamoto.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aronoff cracks Naiz with a good jab.

Aronoff closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Naiz did well to prevent Aronoff getting side control.

Aronoff is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Naiz defends it well.
Naiz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Aronoff is looking for a kimura here.
Naiz tries to roll over but Aronoff keeps him under control.
Aronoff throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.

Aronoff has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Naiz is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Aronoff throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Naiz is looking to control Aronoff's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Naiz avoid being mounted?

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Aronoff throws and elbow that misses. Naiz uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Aronoff's guard. Nice move by Naiz!
Naiz must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Naiz accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Naiz postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Aronoff looking for a guillotine here but Naiz defends easily.
Naiz really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Aronoff. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Naiz throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Aronoff works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Naiz won't allow Aronoff to sweep him here.
Aronoff throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

Aronoff has his foot on Naiz's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Naiz works his way back into a safe position though.
Naiz keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Aronoff's head.

Naiz stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Aronoff swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Naiz is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.
Aronoff avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Naiz looks gassed!
Aronoff trying to punch from his back but it's not doing any damage.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Naiz thows a big elbow that misses.
Naiz missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Naiz connects with a couple of short punches.
Aronoff wants to hit a switch here but Naiz passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Aronoff there!
Aronoff is wriggling around trying to escape.
Naiz throwing sloppy strikes, which aren't doing any damage.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Aronoff tries to hold on but Naiz pushes him away.

Naiz is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Aronoff has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Aronoff!
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Naiz can do anything to dispel that myth.
Aronoff content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Naiz striking off his back but it's not causing Aronoff any problems.
Aronoff with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
Aronoff postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Aronoff slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.

Naiz is looking to reverse the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mark Aronoff dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Aronoff wants to clinch.
Naiz avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Aronoff is looking to clinch but Naiz is avoiding it.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Aronoff here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
Nice sprawl there from Naiz as Aronoff shoots in.
Kriz Naiz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Aronoff instigates a clinch.

Aronoff looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Aronoff throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Naiz tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Aronoff is in Naiz's guard.
Naiz avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Aronoff landing with strikes to the body and head, softening up his opponent.

Naiz takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Aronoff has knee on belly and moves into mount.

Aronoff mounts Naiz! Really nice guard pass there!

Aronoff is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Aronoff extends the arm and Naiz is forced to tap!
