PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Shamar Outing (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Crammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Crammer has chosen Welcome to Jamrock as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Shamar Outing!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sam Crammer!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, John Kavanagh and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Crammer.
Crammer throws a right and a left that both miss.
Crammer throws a right hand that Outing ducks under and follows up with a left that Outing also avoids with ease.
Crammer misses with a series of wild punches.
Crammer tries to clinch there but Outing circles away.
Crammer takes a head kick and keeps coming.

Crammer lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
Crammer looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Crammer fails to land with a series of punches.
Crammer shoots in for a takedown but Outing shows good takedown defense.
Crammer looks gassed!

Outing shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Crammer's guard.
Crammer can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Outing controls the pace.

Outing's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Outing with a flurry of punches that miss.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Outing seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Outing prevents Crammer from getting back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Outing slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

We're going to have a standup here because Shamar Outing wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.

Outing shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Outing with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

Outing decides to return to a standing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.

so Outing counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Outing throwing strikes from guard but Crammer blocks nicely.
Outing makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Crammer is breathing heavily.

Outing is frustrating his opponent with some stalling tactics from top position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Outing stops Crammer from standing up.
Outing's corner is telling him to maintain position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Shamar Outing just wasn't active enough.
Crammer has his takedown stuffed

and Outing counters with a nice double leg into side control. Crammer won't be happy with that.
A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Crammer bucks up and tries to throw Outing off but instead Outing has got his back!

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Outing connects with a series of strikes and the referee is calling for Crammer to escape the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shamar Outing dominated that second round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

and Outing counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Outing perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Outing stops Crammer from getting back to his feet.
Outing seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Crammer avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Outing.

And that's the end of the fight!
Shamar Outing showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Outing, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
