Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mike Lingston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Bubba Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mike Lingston looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Bubba Jackson! The judges for this bout are Donatello Bradman, Winston Howard and Damien Edna.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Jackson tries to land a front kick but Lingston steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed. Lingston looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this! Jackson drops Lingston with a beautiful combination! Lingston stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Jackson is looking for the KO!
Lingston is rocked!
It looks like Mike Lingston has been cut. Jackson gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here. The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here. Lingston looking for a takedown. Come on Jackson - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Lingston jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Jackson walks away with a smile on his face. Lingston gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head. Jackson scores with a shot to the body.
Jackson throws a sloppy head kick and Lingston moves out of range easily. Jackson looks to score with a combo but nothing lands. Jackson clinches up with Lingston and pushes him back against the cage. Jackson fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Lingston has Jackson pressed against the cage, preventing Jackson from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Jackson is trying to maintain a safe position but Lingston gets an underhook and turns Jackson into the cage. Jackson is trying to break the clinch but Lingston has him pressed against the cage. Jackson wants to break free but Lingston has control.

Jackson scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction. Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Lingston paws at him with a jab and circles away.
That's two minutes gone in the round. A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd. Lingston pushes Jackson up against the cage in a clinch. Lingston successfully pulls guard.

The crowd applauds. A combination from Jackson does no damage. Jackson swings for the body but Lingston moves out of range.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Lingston pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Bubba Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. Lingston takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Jackson darts in and out, connecting with a jab. Jackson fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Lingston misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Jackson keeps the fight on the outside. Lingston moves into the clinch. Jackson is trying to break free. Jackson tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Lingston just stands there and leans against the cage. Lingston tries to pull guard but Jackson holds him up against the cage and eventually Lingston drops back down to his feet.
Jackson tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Lingston's elbow. A head punch blocked on the inside by Lingston. Lingston tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Jackson avoids it.

Lingston has Jackson pressed against the cage, preventing Jackson from circling away and getting back to striking at range. Jackson trying to control the position but instead, Lingston has worked for underhooks and has pushed Jackson into the cage. Lingston breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jackson clinches but Lingston breaks the clinch and Lingston counters with a nice double leg into guard. Lingston pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jackson is keeping the position for now. Lingston preventing the sweep. Jackson isolates an arm and boxes in a triangle. Lingston stacks Jackson on his neck as he steps over and passes to the side. He's now in a much more dominant position where he can look to do some serious damage. Nice move by Lingston! As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action. Lingston is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Jackson is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Bubba Jackson dominated that round. The cut man is working on Mike Lingston's cut. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Lingston tries to close the distance and clinch but Jackson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Jackson will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky. Jackson gets in close and instigates a clinch. Jackson is trying to break the clinch but Lingston has him pressed against the cage. Jackson looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now. Lingston manages to break the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Lingston has his head snapped back a nice jab. A little nod from Lingston there as he acknowledges the shot. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here. Jackson closes the distance and clinches up with Lingston, looking for a takedown. Jackson pushes Lingston against the cage but Lingston circles to the side and manages to break the clinch. Jackson rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lingston moves out of range and avoids them all easily. Lingston showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jackson.

Can Jackson avoid being mounted? Lingston is working for a kimura but Jackson is defending it quite comfortably.

Jackson is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though. Lingston wants to work for an arm triangle but Jackson is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
That's four minutes gone in the round. There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action. Lingston sitting in half guard, looking to land shots. Jackson defending well though. Jackson trying to get back to full guard but Lingston takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount! Jackson keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Lingston breaks from Jackson's wrist control and lands an elbow. Lingston tries to control but Jackson wriggling away. Lingston punching from mount but Jackson doing a good job of avoiding damage. Jackson is trying to escape the mount.

Mike Lingston dominated that second round. The cut man is working on Mike Lingston's cut. The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! Let's get this one finished - here comes the final round!

Lingston circles away from the clinch attempt and Lingston counters with a shoot takedown. Jackson fights it but they end up in guard. Lingston is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Jackson is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Jackson has escaped and now he's on top! Jackson is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there. Lingston looks to be working for a triangle here. Oh, it looks like he might have it! Jackson has picked Lingston up and slammed him! Lingston can't keep hold of the triangle and Jackson manages to pass to side control! Both fighters are breathing heavily.
That's one minute gone in the round. Jackson decides to stand back up. Jackson steps back and let's Lingston get back to his feet. Lingston closes the distance and pushes Jackson back into the cage. Lingston connects with a nasty looking knee right to Jackson's face.
Lingston tries to score a body lock takedown but Jackson shows good agility there to stay on his feet. Lingston's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does. Lingston showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Jackson.
Jackson darts in trying to clinch and Lingston counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Lingston. Lingston gets control of Jackson's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lingston will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back. Lingston keeping moving, preventing Jackson from controlling successfully. Lingston is adopting a defensive guard. Mike Lingston overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jackson stands and throws Lingston's legs to the side, diving into side control. Jackson swings around for an armbar but Lingston sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jackson's guard. Lingston postures up.
Jackson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Lingston kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time. Jackson looking for a sweep. Not yet Jackson, not yet. The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Lingston slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard. Lingston wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving. Jackson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mike Lingston wasn't doing enough on the ground. Lingston tries to clinch there but Jackson circles away.
