Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rei Herrera (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mohammed Ali (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Herrera comes to the cage accompanied by Pigface. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division. Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner. With a record of
1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rei Herrera! And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner. With a record of
0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mohammed Ali! The judges for this bout are David Schapiro, Columbo Gatti and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway! Ali stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush. Ali throws a series of punches but Herrera moves out of range. This fight brought to you by 5M nutrition - it's mmmmm tasty. Nice jab by Ali. Herrera is looking to clinch but Ali is avoiding it.
Herrera tries for a takedown but Ali sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily. Ali swinging wildly here.
Herrera misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out. Herrera misses with a takedown attempt - Ali sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses. That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Rei Herrera. That's going to take a lot out of him. Herrera tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Ali works over Herrera's head and body with a nice combination. Herrera shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ali as he jumps to the side. Herrera throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Ali was covering up waiting for the punch and Herrera finishes the takedown easily into guard. Herrera might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
That's one minute gone in the round. Herrera is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long. Ali is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent. Ali is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle. Herrera won't allow Ali to sweep him here. We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Ali can do anything to dispel that myth. Herrera controlling from the top position. The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
That's two minutes gone in the round. My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Rei Herrera wasn't doing enough on the ground. Herrera will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts. Herrera shoots in but Ali avoids the takedown attempt easily. Ali thuds his right hand into Herrera's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters. Herrera tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion. Herrera pulls out of a head kick attempt.

That's three minutes gone in the round. Ali lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head. Herrera tries to close the distance and clinch but Ali swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away. Ali shoots and misses and Herrera counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Ali's guard now. Herrera is breathing heavily. Herrera throwing strikes but missing. Ali keeping moving, preventing Herrera from controlling successfully. Herrera working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound. Ali really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Herrera. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out. Ali trying to keep a closed guard but Herrera is proving a slippery customer.
Herrera decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Ali, up you get! Herrera avoids a punch combination nicely.

That's four minutes gone in the round. Herrera tries to score a power double leg takedown but Ali sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Herrera somewhat. Ali lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Herrera backs up against the cage.
Herrera fails with a takedown attempt. Herrera fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Ali avoids it really well and circles away. Ali doesn't succeed with the takedown and Herrera moves into the clinch. And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
That was a close round but I would say that Rei Herrera will probably get the nod. The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!
Ali is trying hard to land a takedown here. Herrera sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet. Rei Herrera seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout. A momentary lapse in concentration from Ali enables Herrera to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Ali manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat. Herrera drops back looking for a leg! Ali is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Ali manages to kick Herrera off! Herrera jumps back into Ali's guard. Ali is working an open guard so Herrera takes the opportunity to get back to his feet. Herrera throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ali counters with a right hand to the body. Herrera shoots in looking for a takedown. Ali tries to sprawl out of it but Herrera keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ali manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ali shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Herrera defends it nicely. Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

and Ali connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle. Ali gets tackled into the cage by Herrera. Herrera maintains the clinch. Herrera can't get the takedown.
Ali pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat. Ali throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Herrera looks for a takedown but Ali sprawls well. Ali lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent. Rei Herrera is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things. Herrera darts in trying to clinch and Ali counters with a nice body shot.

Herrera shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Ali as he jumps to the side. Nice uppercut there from Ali. Ali jabs Herrera to the body, keeping him at a distance. Ali lands with a hook. Herrera tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head. Ali is using his reach advantage to land shots from outside his opponent's range. Herrera is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Ali.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Herrera misses with a takedown and Ali counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw. Ali catches Herrera with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong! Ali has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight. Herrera on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere. Herrera tries to grapple but his opponent circles and Ali makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range. Herrera throws a head kick that misses letting Ali counter with a right hand. Mohammed Ali seems to be getting the better of the standup. Ali dives in and grabs Herrera's left leg, looking for a takedown. Herrera pushes down on Ali's head and hops out. Herrera takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Mohammed Ali showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards. The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. Ladies and gentlemen, this is the final round!
Herrera tries to clinch and Ali counters with a nice uppercut. Herrera fails with a takedown attempt from distance. Ali looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily. Ali circles away from the clinch attempt and Ali counters with a left to the body. Ali swats away the attempt to clinch by Herrera. Ali shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Herrera but Herrera pushes him off and we're back to square one. We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up. Herrera takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Ali takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
That's one minute gone in the round. Ali fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt. Rei Herrera has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mohammed Ali. Herrera looks to clinch and Ali counters with a three punch combo that has Herrera backing up. Herrera nods at Ali to acknowledge the strikes. Herrera looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that. Herrera fails to land the takedown. Herrera has a takedown stuffed. Herrera walks into a jab. Herrera shoots in looking for a takedown. Ali tries to sprawl out of it but Herrera keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Ali manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing. Ali gets caught flat footed, as Herrera shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
That's two minutes gone in the round. Herrera trying to control the position from guard on top but Ali is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can. Ali is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive. Ali tries to strike from the bottom.
Ali throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land. Herrera is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
We're going to have a standup here because Rei Herrera wasn't active enough for the referee's liking. A telegraphed takedown attempt from Herrera is defended easily by Ali. Ali connects with a right hand. Herrera shakes it off.
That's three minutes gone in the round. Ali with a hook. Herrera shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ali sprawls well. Ali wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Herrera gets slowly back to his feet. Herrera tries to clinch there but Ali circles away.
Herrera takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Herrera. Good standup being displayed there by Ali as he connects with a hook.
That's four minutes gone in the round. The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight. Herrera displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Ali. Ali lands a really nice looking cross but Herrera seems unphased.
Ali lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw. Ali closes the distance and lands a one-two. Herrera throws a combination that misses and Ali counters with a lovely straight right hand! Herrera looks to clinch and Ali counters with a straight right hand. The crowd thankful this round is nearly over. Herrera closes the distance looking to clinch and Ali counters with a series of strikes. Herrera will be more careful next time no doubt.
And that's the end of the fight! I would just about give that final round to Mohammed Ali. I think Ali has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
